Diaper Question for BTDT Moms
I have 80 size 1 diapers and a box of 200 size 1 diapers that i got from my registry. I also have about 100 size 2 diapers from my shower. baby is measuring 7lbs at 37 weeks. he's estimated to be 8.5lbs at birth. do you think i'll need that many size 1 diapers? should i return it for a smaller box?

you go through alot of diapers in the begining... i think i was changing like 12 a day at one point so i would keep them... what i ended up doing was if i had any left of a size i held them for the next baby

keep them! DD was measuring large on my sonos too, but they ended up being a little off... they will give you size 1 diapers in the hospital but i actually found that the NB fit her better for a little while... she was 7.12 when she was born... and grew fast and i remember going through at least 2 big boxes of NB and 2 big boxes of size 1

Keep them! DS was 8.10 and he's in size 1's - has been since the hospital. I regret even buying a package of NB ones because I have no use for them.

My son was 9 lbs when he was born. He's 5 weeks old and still wearing size 1.

Keep them - attach the receipt to the box that way if you need to exchange for a bigger size you can do so without a problem.

emma is STILL in size one diapers and all of her growth sonos were measuring large. she came home from the hospital in size 1 and is still in them!!! we even bought another 216 today!

My son measured 8lbs and he was only 6lb 12oz. But you will most likely go through them.

Definitely keep them! DD is 2 weeks old today and we've gone through 2/3's of a box of size 1's. She's nowhere close to needing to move up a size either. (DD was born 7 lbs 2 oz).

Keep them. But I will caution you that DS was measuring large in our sono too and he ended up being 7lbs. 8oz. And at 8 weeks old, he's STILL in newborn diapers. The size 1s are pretty big and even though he's almost 12lbs. now, the size 1s are too big on him still.

yup, definitely keep them. i had an average sized baby (7.14oz, born at 38wks) but he grew quickly. He's 90th percentile @ 8wks. We switched to size 2 diapers between weeks 7-8.
Keep the size 1s - you'll probably have to buy more, too!

1's you might use for a little while. If you have any NB, I would get rid of those. Not only do you use them in the hospital, but anything left on the bassinet - they tell you is yours so you get sent home with some as well. And the NB's dont fit very long.
