Did anyone do a Winter "ONE"derland Birthday?
This is the theme for Alexa's Birthday and the reason I started now is because I am getting sooo much stuff cheap because it is off season.
Did anyone do this theme and have any ideas or pics to share?
So far I know I am making snowflakes the main theme and I bought fake snow for under the centerpieces. And I am painting foam number 1's a light blue with sparkles to add to the white carnation arrangements.
And I would like to have a Snowman Visit the Party or even a Teddy Bear because he is winterish
And the favors I am going to do mini snowglobes.
Anything else? Any invitation ideas?
TIA
This is an invite that I like

We've been looking into this as well and hoping that the closer it comes to winter the more we find I found some things on Oriental Trading , but not much ( My DS wants a penguin party for his b-day in October so I was hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone !)

Love the penguins!! I was going to bring in the Happy Feet theme but I thought that I would just stick to the snowflake, snowman thing.
I found a winter tutu too

Re: Did anyone do a Winter "ONE"derland Birthday?
Some Game Ideas I found:
For games we brought our Little Tikes kiddie pool and filled it with ice and magnetic fish. The kids all got to go ice fishing with the special magnetic fishing poles and the winner recieved a keychain in the shape of a snowman or a snowflake. The ice fishing was the hit of the party and the kids were found all day around the pool fishing. The next game was Pin the nose on frosty. We drew a nice picture of Frosty on paperboard and used two-sided tape on black buttons so they would stick. The winner of that game also recieved a keychain. Next we drew a picture of a penguin and cut a hole in the belly and placed it in front of a box. I filled bagies with marshmallows and those were used as snowballs for a snowball toss. I gave the kids three snowballs each and the winner again recieved the prize of a keychain. The pinata was a mumble pull-string from happy feet and we filled it with candy and small toys and I gave each child a baggie to gather up all the toys when it came raining down. For activities we had a make your own sno-cone and then we had a hot cocoa with marshmallow station.

I did a search on winter party themes and came across it. Not much info on the web so I doing searches for winter weddings instead and finding a lot.
I was going to do butterflies etc theme but to me, it didn't seem to go with the winter and I had trouble getting into it.

Re: Did anyone do a Winter "ONE"derland Birthday?
Since my DS's is going to be penguin themed; these are some thing we are looking to do, kind of goes with the winter theme...
Igloo building contest with sugar cubes and frosting..
Snowball fight (dodge ball w/ cvrumbles paper or marshmallows)
Snow cone station
Penguin waddle relay
Insta snow ( not sure exactly what I want to do with it yet)

I JUST saw this idea somewhere and am going nuts trying to remember where. It was either a Parenting Magazine or a Blog. It had a TON of ideas and I'm trying to track it down for you now!

Re: Did anyone do a Winter "ONE"derland Birthday?
That is THE cutest idea for a first birthday!! I LOVE it!!! I wish I could do that too but DD was born in September. Something tells me a Fall "One"derland party doesn't have the same punch!

Re: Did anyone do a Winter "ONE"derland Birthday?
ok here is another idea... i don't know if you are doing centerpieces but i made these easter eggs for easter and you could do the same thing but make them look like snowballs. they are pretty simple to make. all you need is styrophome balls , glue, napkins and glitter. if you want to know how to make them i will let you know but it's just a lot to type if im not sure you like the idea!!! here these are the ones i made for easter just picture them round white and glittery and put them in a glass bowl!!!!

Re: Did anyone do a Winter "ONE"derland Birthday?
another idea you could do is a candy bar....get all different types of glass containers and do clear rock candy in one, whit m & m's , blue and white jelly belly jelly beans. stick with blue, clear and white candy...the kids and adults will love it... you could also get those bags like you get at the candy stores!

Re: Did anyone do a Winter "ONE"derland Birthday?
I was going to do the same thing for my first DD b/c her bday is right smack in between christmas and new years but I didnt want to take away from it being a birthday party and decided not to do a winter wonderland theme but I did find cute stuff at oriental trading if I was.

Re: Did anyone do a Winter "ONE"derland Birthday?
here's some more ideas Wrap twinkle lights in white tulle and drape over a window frame like soft, snowy curtains. Tie back the tulle with a snowflake ornament or white satin ribbon. Give guests a small party favor as they leave. It can be as simple as a white gift bag or satin pouch with a holiday card, votive candle and white chocolate truffles tucked inside.
