did you bring you child with you when looking at day cares?
i can only really do this during lunch - and obviously DS isn't with me.
is it bad if i don't bring him the first time? just to look around and ask questions?

I did. But then left him in the infant room (turns out I went to hs with the teacher, but I would have anyway) to take the tour, etc.
So, I think its fine not to bring him

I didn't as I was still pregnant w/ DS. Actually he did come, just no one saw him.

Re: did you bring you child with you when looking at day cares?
I didn't take DS when I was checking out daycares. I would have brought DS and DH for the second round visits. I personally liked the daycares that suggested that we bring DS to meet the teachers. I didn't like the daycares that seemed in a rush for us to enroll sooner than later.
We ended up not going the daycare route.

Re: did you bring you child with you when looking at day cares?
I didn't - they took us on a tour of the entire place, sat with us in the office to go over things, ask questions, etc. I don't think I would have been able to do/ask all I wanted if I had to keep an eye out on a squirmy 1 year old. I would have brought him to the follow up though once I narrowed down my choices to see where he felt more comfortable.
