I went to June Myers in Bellmore.
I took Ballet, Tap, and Jazz.
I think I did it for about 5 years.

I did. I started when I was 4 and took tap and ballet in Ronkonkoma. When I was 7 we moved to CT and I took tap, ballet, and jazz. I stopped when I was 13.

Frank Ohman School of Ballet; he was a former New York City Ballet soloist when George Balanchine was still alive.
I went to Frank Ohman School of Ballet too for 2 years until I lost interest and started horseback riding.

I LOVED dancing school. I started when I was 2 1/2 at Haute E' COle in Forest Hills Queens. I satyed there for 11 years then had to temporarily quit due to scoliosis.
I returned at age 17 to Song & a Dance in Maspeth. I took tap, jazz, ballet and hip-hop. Then I started assisting and teaching classes. I stayed there until about the age of 22. I miss it.
Now at age 32 (almost 33) and 2 kids...i don't have any time. But when they are both in school full time, I would LOVE to return!!

Yes, Melissa, Melijane is my sister and we did grow up in commack...Thanks for reminding me of the name of the school sista

I went to Showtime in Flushing for about 8 years - took tap & ballet and a couple of years of jazz... My teachers were Miss Linda & Miss Maryann...

Dont remember my teachers but I went to June Claire in Coram for 3 years for Jazz and LI Academy of Dance for 2 years for Hiphop

I went to dancing school in Brooklyn at a place called Pattycake...it was on Bay Parkway.
I went for several years...took ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics. I loved the dance recitals we had and the costumes. I still have most of them and my niece plays dress up in them when she visits me.

Where did you do twirling? I did that too for many years in Port Jeff.
Were you a Clarkette too?
I think I twirled from about 1980 to 1991 or so...

here is a thread that was started a few weeks ago about this
I went to Queens Dance Academy & Dancesation in Middle Village ages 3-13 and took ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical.
Then in HS I went to Robert Mann Dance Centre in Bayside and took tap and ballet, for the last 2 years I was on pointe only.
I loved it - especially BALLET!

I went there too. I am a little older than you. I graduated HS in 1990.
I danced from the time I was in elementary school. When I started there, Karen Fitzgerald owned the school. She sold it to Amy while I was still dancing there.

Awww dancing school...what a great post. I can not even remember the name of the school but I had so much fun. I only took it for a year or two when I was 4 or 5. I am a dance school dropout
