Did you plan your pregnancy due date for a certain time and if so was it what you expected?
I was so happy when I found out dd was due Dec 1st. I thought WOW...I get the whole holiday season off for maternity leave. DD was born Nov 26th so I never went back after thanksgiving and stayed out until Mid-february. Honestly...this is bad planning. Everyone had off for all the holidays and got paid while I got my minimal state 180 a week (totally sucked) and they all enjoyed the festivities etc... We couldnt go out for like 3 months bc it was cold out etc... It wasnt exactly what I thought it would be. Next time i would prefer June, July and Aug maternity leave if I could somehow choose. Anyone think their EDD was perfect?

we didn't plan it, but in retrospect, i did not enjoy a February due date. Too cold to go out, which left me feelign more depressed. and I hate that all her b-days will have to be inside. My next baby I'd like a May/June EDD, or Sept /Oct

No I didn't even think about it - the time that we chose to TTC was right for us. The next time around will be a different story, I think we'll try for a certain time of year, or season, etc.

my last pregnancy was unexpected, they were due in dec but were born in oct. I would love to have a spring baby, but what ever time of year is fine for me.

I didn't plan it per se, but I was thrilled to have a late spring baby. My SIL is trying to get pg right now so she has a May/June baby. Her DD was born in October.

We did not plan DS due date, but if I can I would like to have our next around the same time. Even a month later. I felt it was the best time because I wasn't at the end of my pregnancy in the summer. And I was already big for the holidays, so I really endulged!! LOL Plus, once DS was born it was getting warmer for walks!

We didn't plan DD. November was ok. I am a winter baby (my bday is January) and hate it. I always wanted a spring baby. I don't think we'll have one next time either. Now I'm hoping for October so if it's another girl, she can wear Lily's clothes.

my dd was TOTALLY unexcpeted and due in late Sept - talk about bad timing for a teacher! I stayed out six months, went back subbing at first and then did a leave replacement.....it wasn't the best plan all in all but I wouldn't change it for a bit!!!

I got pregnant the first month I ttc'd both times. While I wasn't planning a specific month but was just shooting for within the school year. I did gasp when I realized with my first pregnancy was an October due date. We have 3 of DH's family with birthdays that month.
DS came 6 weeks early making it a September birthday.

Re: Did you plan your pregnancy due date for a certain time and if so was it what you expected?
The only planning I did per say was that I didn't want to be due to close to my sister's late June 07 wedding. She's my only sibbling and I wanted to be there. If I hadn't conceived my DS when I did, I was going to put ttc'ing on old for a couple months.
ETA: I am very happy that he was born on May 1st because it's my late grandfather's birthday and I've also always loved May Day.

We planned it like a military operation!!! We could only try for 2 months because of my job and luckily we got pregnant the first month. We were supposed to have an early May baby, but she came 2 weeks early in late April.
In my opinion it's the PERFECT time of year to give birth.

you just reminded me... We didnt plan dd's EDD either but DD was born a yr to date from my dads passing. Is that ironic or what?

Re: Did you plan your pregnancy due date for a certain time and if so was it what you expected?
With my son, I didn't even think about planning the time of year he was going to arrive-- we just wanted to try asap! I am glad to have delivered him in the winter- January 24- because carrying in the summer at the end of pregnancy S*CKS. With my daughter, we originally were going to try to have her arrive in June so that DH would be off with me (he is a teacher), but she came MUCH earlier and was a huge shock.

Re: Did you plan your pregnancy due date for a certain time and if so was it what you expected?
We totally planned DD to arrive at the beginning of the summer (as I'm a teacher) & also have a summer bday & always loved having a summer bday. I got pregnant our 2nd month trying & DD was born 7/7/07...it was ideal b/c I had a month off at the end of my pregnancy from school (b/c I had the days) & then I had the rest of the summer w/ DD collecting my paycheck.
Next time we may start a month or so earlier just to give us more time w/ DC b4 school starts again.

Re: Did you plan your pregnancy due date for a certain time and if so was it what you expected?
I did not plan my pregnancy for the first 2 but when ds was born in April is was great I took my maternity leave until the end of June then took a leave of absent for July and August therefore I got to spend the summer home with both of my boys. So when I was considering my 3rd I wanted to do the same thing but unfortunately I had a m/c so when I was emotionally ready to have another one I said I wouldn't plan it because I feel I do better with out planning which left me having ds #3 in the month of February.

Re: Did you plan your pregnancy due date for a certain time and if so was it what you expected?
Once we were ready to TTC I just focused on trying to get pregnant and never even thought about what would be a good time of year. I sure wish I had though. DD was born the end of August and being 9mths pregnant in the summertime was not fun! In an ideal situation I would love to have an April/May baby.

I loved having a June baby! We were "planning" for late spring / early summer (before it got too hot).

We totally planned it and got really lucky! I wanted the baby to arrive sometime in May or June and she was born May 29th. i was able to take off the month of May beforehand, and then I had the whole summer with her because I'm a teacher! It was exactly as perfect as i thought it would be!

Yes when we started it was planned for a sept. Baby.....unfortunatly it then took us 2 years ad IVF to get there and we wished we were back to the days we thought about planning.

I didn't think about it before I had Steven, but now I want a late August or early Sept. baby. Not the best time to be preggo, but great time for materenity leave.

Re: Did you plan your pregnancy due date for a certain time and if so was it what you expected?
Paulette I feel the same exact way you do!!!
That's why we are going to start TTC now and if I don't conceive by December we will wait until next year. I can't handle another winter baby. I had the blues, I was stuck in the house, everyone was sick and couldn't visit. It was very isolating - I don't think I could do that with 2.

Both my babies are early May and neither were planned, but I love that time of year. I keep telling DH we're missing our window of opportunity if we want yet another May baby

Re: Did you plan your pregnancy due date for a certain time and if so was it what you expected?
I loved mine- It wasn't planned. I thought I would take the year off from the school I am at and have the baby in Sept but I miscarried But it ended up better since I had my amazing DD in Jan. and took off the rest of year instead. We would have really struggled financially if I had taken the full year as planned. I am hoping to have the second the way I planned the first but save more this time.
ETA: I never really consider the weather since its nice here all year round. The only two months I wouldn't want to have the baby would be July or August since I don't get paid for 6 weeks leave and that is a huge chunk to miss.
