He took a week off then wound up getting laid off when DD was 4wks so we had a lot of mommy & daddy time.

2 days unpaid. He would have taken more if he had paid days off. I had my mom here who was 1000x more helpful than DH...so I was happy to have him go back to work.

He took one week off after DS was born. He is planning to take another week unpaid very soon to help me out a bit, and possibly some vacation in February.

My DH got an automatic 2 days at work (they give the same to all employees, not even factoring in the WOMEN who would obviously need more then 2 days after having a BABY!) and then he took another 2 days. SO he was home for 4 days total with me, and the 2 weekend days.
But he did have a lot of vacation days left at the end of the year, which coinsided with me going back to work, so he used about 2 weeks worth of vaca days to stay home and watch the baby by himself so she didn't have to start daycare until 3 months of age.

DH's company actually has "paternity leave" if you've been there for over a year. He was just shy of a year- but used his vacation. It was also a unique situation because I was in the hospital for 3 days before I had DD- so obviously they let him take his vacation starting then, and then went back to work the following Thursday- so he was off for a week total.

DH took 5 weeks, 2 paid, three unpaid. It was originally going to be four weeks, but I delivered early and his leave fell in the middle of the holidays, so he requested an extra week.
It was a godsend.

DH took about 5 days off. He was home for a little over a week because it fell over Christmas.

Yes, he got two weeks paternity leave and then used another two weeks vacation time.

When Jacob was born, DH just started a new job so he only took a couple of days.

my DH took off 2 weeks
But he works from home any way... he just told everyone NO CALLS OR APTS for the 1st 2 weeks
