Different places, different tones
I've been using this board for close to 2 years now. Every now and then I look at another well known IF board, but never post. It's so different than it is here.
We genuinely support one another here. When someone announces a BFP, the congratulatory messages are genuine. We're truly happy for one another. When I was waiting for my BFP last year, I never felt sad when someone announced theirs. I was happy for the person and felt a glimmer of hope that my time would come. I guess it's just surprising that other places expect people to warn one another if they're sharing happy news.
I guess there's really no point to this post, other than to note what a great place this is. I feel connected to you all because we're all on this journey together, and am so appreciative that there's a place where we can talk to one another and support each other.

I feel like are all on this long journey together, although the road maybe different for some of us.
Every time there's a BFP, I think ok great there's hope.

Let me guess, you're talking about babycenter? I lurked when I was going through IF there and never got that warm and fuzzy feeling. The girls here are so genuine and supportive.

I've never heard of babycenter (until now). I was actually referring to The Bump. It just further illustrates that the community here truly is special.

I agree with all the other ladies. Every BFP is hope as far as I am concerned. A hard earned victory that deserves to be celebrated!

I have not looked into other boards but I don't think I would have survived this journey without everyone on here! Everyone is so nice, are willing to share their personal stories and advices and make me feel so welcome.

Ha yup, I go on thebump from time to time. You have to warn about everything. Sometimes people on there have good info and its interesting to see what other people in other states or countries are doing IF wise. I would never post a BFP on there, ha.

I post on Resolve, and they do the whole MENTS thing. I don't think it's such a big deal because it's really about acknowledging that (while you might normally be happy to hear a BFP from a fellow IFer) we all have really really bad days when someone else's BFP might put you over the edge...like, say, the day you learned of your own IVF failure or pregnancy loss. I envy the girl who can honestly say she's never had a day like that on this journey. And it comes from the poster's desire to be sensitive, which I think is actually very sweet. The women on Resolve are really incredible and so highly informed it's sorta crazy.
