Dinner and after school activities

We usually have dinner around 6:30 - 7ish. Now that DS is in first grade and has some more after school activities any tips on snacks and dinners?

He has karate 2 nights a week and soccer practice one night. He is only doing a month trial of karate though bc it seems like a lot. What do you usually make for dinner and I guess we'll eat later than before.

Any good snacks without too much food?

Thanks!

Re: Dinner and after school activities

I have to be honest, dinners are hard during the week. DS just started 1st grade and he has football practice Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs at 6:30. I feed him, take him to practice, then eat when I get home (around 8:15). Depending on the night its either chicken nuggets, mini pizzas (like the Boboli small round crusts with sauce and cheese), or I make a few meals on the weekends that are easy to re-heat during the week quickly. And by the end of it all....I'm exhausted Chat Icon

I have decided there are no rules as to which foods are consumed at what times.
You like eggs? Great, eggs and toast for dinner.
Cheese sticks for breakfast, yogurt, PB/apples, PB/J on whole wheat, pancakes at any time of day - whatever works as long as they're not eating total and complete junk - I'm good with it.

Yes this for us too
And we have no rules for dinner time, place etc.
As long as everyone is eating and not starving, we go with it.
