Has anyone stayed at AoA? How far to parks?

I've stayed there. It's pretty quick to everything but Magic Kingdom. It's probably 20-25 minutes on the bus for that.

But for the other three I'd say no more than 10-15 minutes on the bus with the closest being Hollywodd Studios.

We always left an hour before we wanted to be at the park and it never took more than 20-30 minutes total including wait and unload times, except for MK.

Re: Disney 2017

Booked our SW flights this morning for Feb break. Glad I jumped on it because prices are insane and I had points I wanted to use. Got 2 free flights and reasonable fares for the other 2 because I was willing to leave 2 days earlier than planned. Too much stress!

Re: Disney 2017

We are still waiting for all of the airlines ro release pricing so we can start booking. I'm dying here! I'm in the process of convincing DH to let us spend 1or 2 days at LEGOLAND & 3 or 4 in DW. I think my boys would love LL.

1 day at LL should be enough right? The thing is, looks like they have a really cute water area & they can spend all day in that alone.

What do you do to plan out your days? Just pick which park you do on that day or is there more too it.

I have been trying to figure out restaurants. For the people that do dining packages do you normally do lunch and dinner and use the snacks for breakfast or do a big breakfast and then use snacks for lunch???

What is everyone top dining picks?

I plan out the itinerary for our whole trip, which parks on which days AND our dining plans. I have to know what parks we will be in each day in order to make my ADR's. Chat Icon I also use Touring Plans and other Disney sites to help decide which parks to go to on each day depending on predicted crowds and EMH. (extra magic hours) I know, I'm nutso but I'm just a planner by nature so I like knowing what we'll be doing and that we'll get to see everything that we want to.

My recommendation for the dining plan is to NOT do two sit downs in a day. We did that for a few of the days we were there last time because it was the only way to get some of the ADR's we wanted and it was A LOT of food and we felt like we were ALWAYS eating. It was too much. This time we're sticking to one counter service and one sit down per day max. For breakfast, we usually eat light and use either snack credits or just pay OOP.

Because they give you so much food for meals many days we didn't even need our snacks. We generally end up with 2-3 snack credits each at the end so we'll use them the last day to buy goodies to bring home. Chat Icon Honestly, it's really up to you how to use your credits. You can use double credits to go to more expensive dinners, or you can use snack credits for lunch, or do big breakfasts. It's really just personal preference, the credits can be used however and whenever you want until they are all gone.

As far as places to eat, we really enjoyed the breakfast in MK at Crystal Palace, it was SO delicious!!!...........and all you can eat!! Chat Icon I think it's always nice to eat in the castle at Cinderella's Royal Table at least once, it's just so cool to be up into the castle. Love the Luau at the Polynesian, we're doing that again next time. I've heard Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Ft. Wilderness is awesome so that's on our list now. Chef Mickey's (while the food is nothing so special) is a classic place to eat. My family enjoyed the Biergarden in Germany at Epcot, I didn't care for it but if you like German food it's good.

Tusker House at AK was delicious and there were lots of characters walking around. At HS, I LOVE the 50's Prime Time Cafe, it's a really cute and fun experience and the menu is yummy comfort food like pot roast, mashed potatoes, and milkshakes. SO good!! Ohana at Polynesian is really good too!! There are so many good places to eat, you can't go wrong. The only place I was REALLY disappointed in was Akershus at Epcot, the food wasn't very good at all.

You can find a lot of reviews of all the dining options at Disney online. Chat Icon

Thanks!!! And no you aren't crazy for planning, I will definitely doing some planning before hand. I have to figure out my dining because I am using an agent to make reservations and fast passes. Did you do Tusker for dinner??

I appreciate everyone's input on here and I am sure I will have a million more questions before May. Hope you don't get sick of me by then.

We plan everything too. We don't yet have our 2017 reservation. We're hoping to go with some friends, so until that is settled we won't make reservations. But, I'm still working on 2016 trip. We just booked Morimoto Asia, which is a relatively new restaurant in Disney Springs. We're also trying Raglan Road for the first time. We have a longtime favorite in Ohana booked. We love Tusker House. Booking for late breakfast is always good because you get a sampling of both breakfast and lunch selections. We're doing dinner this go round. We also love character interactions, and dining with the characters is a way to do that without standing on line in the August heat. So, we have the princesses at Akershus, Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Daisy at Tusker, and the Disney Jr characters at Hollywood & Vine.

My top dining are Ohana & Chef Mickeys!

For princesses, I have to decide between CRT or Akershus.

Ohana was great. I'm going in November and trying to get chef nucleus this time. I would like cinderellas too but right now it's booked. I have to try again. I also have the crystal palace and akershus and birtgarten and garden grill. Some of these may change but that's what I could get now ( we are trying to stay on the monorail)

Yes, but you have to return the same park unless you have a Hopper Pass.

Yes, you can take the bus from your resort to Disney Springs and then head over to T-Rex...............my kids LOVED T-Rex by the way. We had so much fun. You cannot get to Disney Springs direct from the parks though so you'll need to monorail it over to one of the resorts (Poly, GF, or Contemporary) and then hop on a bus from there to DS. Chat Icon

Thank you. My DS loves dinos so I thought we would go there first night there I don't think we are doing a park on the first day. Just check out resort, pool and then head over to DS.

I actually think you can now- DH and I were just there in June, and we saw buses for Magic Kingdom/Epcot etc at DS. We personally didn't take them, but I thought that was so convenient.
