Disney and Universal
I am trying to plan a vacation to Disney and Universal for May or June, but have never been there before. We're not looking to spend a lot of hotel since most of our days will be spent at the park, but don't want a dump either. A nice place with a pool and possibly a kitchenette would be perfect.
Any expert tips? Is it worth the extra $$ to stay on disney property? Worth renting a car?
Any help at all is appreciated!!
*This trip is just for the hubby and I, we have no kids yet :)
TIA!

Re: Disney and Universal
We did 10 days at Universal and WDW (just DH and I) in the fall. We stayed onsite for both and did not rent a car. We used car service.taxi but if budget is a priority, there are shuttles. In fact, if you stay on Disney property, for example, you can buy a ticket for Universal that includes a shuttle.
We started at universal, and stayed onsite there and then took a taxi and stayed for this particular trip at 2 different onsites at WDW.
I'm an onsite-only kind of gal. I do think it's well worth it. At Disney, to be in the magic, have everything all connected and for extra magic hours, and at Universal for Early Entry to Wizarding World of Harry Potter and for Universal express. Universal hotels are $$ so we stayed just one night and got the benefits for both days. Next time I would do 2 nights at Universal to get to enjoy it more. May and especially June are getting into hot and crowded times of the year so being close by and able to go back for breaks will really make a difference. And Universal Express rocks. I went in the really way off season. 2 and 3 on the crowd level, and the pass still saved us from 45 minute waits on popular rides.

Re: Disney and Universal
the value resorts are sometimes as low as $89 a night! and then go up from there! I def recommend staying on site...we used the buses and had no issue..super convenient!
