Do I have to take Brody out of the bassinet and put him to sleep in the crib?
He will be 4 months old this week.
He is about 18lbs. He sleep in the bassinet in our room, swaddled. He is very happy and sleeps through the night, or wakes 1x.
Tonight, I was going to try the pack-n-play in our room, but he hated it.
The problem is, I am having surgery the first week of February, and won't be able to care for him or Ava much at all for about 2 weeks.
My MIL is coming to stay. I am grateful for the help, but let's just say she is faaaaaaaar from my 1st choice.
So, question is, can he stay in the bassinet, until March, at which time, he would be 6 months old, or is that too old?

My DS is just about 6 months old and he's 18 lbs 5 oz and there is no way he'd even fit in it! Does he still have a lot of room in it right now?

I wouldn't do it. A few months ago one of the bassinets on the market was recalled - but if you read the article the reason it was recalled was because the infants that were injured in it were really too old to be in them in the first place... Good luck for a speedy recovery...

Re: Do I have to take Brody out of the bassinet and put him to sleep in the crib?
I think it depends on the weight limits ofyour bassinet AND also if DS is rolling or getting up on all 4s at all.
My DS is almost 7 months. Quite honestly, he would still be fine in the bassinett we had (it's an old family one, very large & deep) and he is not rolling over yet at all, nor can he sit himself up and he does not get up on all 4s.
So in my case I would, but check your bassinett!!

Have you tried the crib? I would start now, he is gonna end up in it anyway. MY DD went right to the crib so I dont know much about a bassinet.
