Yes and No.........who you are will never change, but some things in life can change how you deal with what happens. Example: I believe in monogomy(?)...when I was single I had a 1 night stand with a married man. I knew he was married and yet it did not stop me. I believed that because I was single he was the one making the mistake.......now I would NEVER do that again. I believed in something and made a poor choice that haunts me to this day. I will/would never do that again so I guess you can say somethings will change
******this was not posted to cause conflict or to be reprimanded. I know I screwed up and that it was a mistake. There is nothing anyone can say to make me feel better or worse about this********

I agree. I've given lots of second chances to find out people do the same hurtful things over and over.

I believe people can grow but I think a person's "core" never truely changes.

Yes. People definitely can and DO change.
Some people don't.
I think a lot of us just like to focus on the a-holes who don't, but many people change and grow.

I sure hope people can change! I am a therapist...so if people don't change, then what the heck and I wasting my time meeting with them for?? No for real, I really think that people can change. As long as they are motivated for the change and want to make a difference in their life or situation, then I really do think that people can change.

Maybe the people you have known but I just know from my dh's past that people do change. They do not change for someone else but have to do it for themselves.
