No. I know I don't have the only Elizabeth on here, but DD's name was going to be Elizabeth long before LIF even existed! Nothing would have changed that.

Oh Rebecca...tell the truth...you named her after me. And if she was a boy, you would have named her after my DS #1 Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon the cool names never go out of style.

I remember when I was pg with my DD and was on another site, there was a boys name that I was considering that someone who had a baby 2 months before me named her son - middle name and all. I would have sort of felt funny if I had a boy and gave the same name. It happened it be a coincidence and I had met her in real life so I sort of knew her more than just on the board so in that case, it would have felt odd. But my DH nixed the name and I had a girl anyway. But...I lost track of her a few years ago anyway and if we had loved the name and didn't use it for the reason of being on a board together, it would have been a shame.

There is someone on here with Bryan's name as well. That Bryan is older and the poster doesn't post that much.
I had no clue there was a Bryan.
We also had Brianna picked out and Christina (Briansbaby) and I laugh because there was a chance we both would have had Brianna's.

I agree. I think I'd get upset if family or close friends "stole" a name.

For me, I don't think anyone can lay claim to a name, so if I like it, I'm using it! especially on a chat board where I might not know the person!

Now if I do know that person, I would feel a little weird using the name....

What bothers me is when someone lays claim to a name before they are even pregnant!! Chat Icon When I was PG with #2, we actually had someone tell us not to use a certain girls name, because they were going to use it (they weren't even pregnant at the time). Kicker is they went on to have 2 boys anyway!

LOL I was anal about my older DD's name. After 8 years I finally got over it.
Once I told someone her name and she names her DD that. I flipped the F out! It was a big no no and I was so upset. Meanwhile I dont; have a patent on the name but for some reason it erked me to pieces!!!! After that I refused to tell pg women her name b/c after having it stolen I wasn't going to risk that again. I was insane...just ask DH. We all laugh at it now though. Even my DD cracks up.

I woudln't mind at all if someone named their DC's my other 2 DC's names, it was only my first DD's name that I was so protective of. But I'm over it now.
