Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

I must say for the most part I do not.

My bo-k got tossed when it started going downhill (about 2 weeks after)

My gown is in the bag in came in, still filthy on the bottom from walking around DUMBO after it had rained, balled up on a shelf in our clothes room.

I just lent a friend my tiara (though I do kinda like it...I am not overly attached)

I almost tossed our cake cutter/server until dh told me it's something people keep.

The only thing I LOVE are our toasting flutes. they are Murano glass, purchased at an awesome store in Milan. They are gorgeous and I love them.

I love my pics but I don't feel like getting an album.

oh, I did love my jewelry, but my friend lost one of my earrings when we went to Venice in March...so I guess I stopped loving them by default LOL. I probably would have kept them.

anyhow, am I the coldest past bride ever?

ETA: I LOVE LOVE LOVE my shoes. champagne color via spiga strappies I scored for $40 at the outlet. I will wear them until the day I DIE!

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

I don't have lovey feelings towards my wedding stuff, either, except my dress, which I love, love, love. It's just hanging in my closet (did get it dry cleaned, though). I really want to dye it or get it hemmed so I can wear it again, though.

We didn't have toasting flutes or cake cutters.

No album, although the pics are gorgeous. Someday we'll get one, just not yet.

Bouquet got thrown out a few days after the wedding.

The only jewelry I wore, besides my rings, was earrings, which I still like and wear, but I'm not sentimental about them.

It's not cold, it's just stuff.

ETA: I forgot that we have our cake topper displayed in our living room.

We also plan on turning the glass we broke into a mezuzzah someday, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

I have to say I am not overly attached to my wedding paraphernalia, but I do have a hard time letting go of my kids baby paraphernalia. We are getting ready to sell the old crib and changing table now that has been sitting in the garage and I will cry the day it goes. I get sad everytime I make a bag of goodwill clothes from my kids!

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

I was attached to my earrings. They're something that my grandmother bought me and I lost one of them.
I loved my unity candle and I accidently smashed it on the floor one day.
I also loved my dress and it's still sitting in my mother's closet in her house...never dry cleaned.

Oh well.

Oh yeah...I hate my pictures too.

No, my dad threw away my wedding dress by accident right after the wedding and it didn't really bother me. I mean, I wasn't going to wear it again...

The only thing that I feel attached to is my husband.

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

Nope, not sentimental.

My flowers I threw away almost right away (can't remember if it was before the HM or right after).

Wedding album hasn't been made yet. Still need to finalize the layout. It's been well over a year, and I need to get my butt moving.

Dress is still hanging in the closet dirty. I've tried it on a couple of times since the wedding just to see if it still fits, and DH Chat Icon when I do. Then it goes right back in garment bag.

I have a box of extra invitations, favors, etc. that I have no idea what to do with. I think, "Will my (unborn, non-concieved) daughter really want to see all this when she grows up?"

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

I didn't care that much about wedding paraphernalia before I got married. Everything I wore besides my dress was pretty cheap.

Veil - $30 on ebay
Earings - $10 Flea market
Necklace - $30 Flea market
Tiara - $60 online

I do want to keep my veil and tiara with my dress, I'm keeping the dress so it's really not a big deal to throw those things in with it.

My earings and necklace are thrown in my jewelery box.

Me too. I have the tiara stuffed in a drawer somewhere and the shoes are going in the trash when I clean out the bottom of that closet next.

After posting about ebaying my tiara, I've decided I can't part with it, now they I know I can put it in the curio cabinet. So I guess I am sentimental.

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

I kept my headpiece, hair clip and jewelry; I like pretty sparkly things. Veil and dress are cleaned and up for grabs if I can find someplace to sell them.

We made scrapbook albums for our parents but haven't done ours yet.

Bouquet was in the trash the night of the wedding.

My shoes were Keds with green ribbon laces. I still have those. Chat Icon

And an extra pair of white stockings that I'll probably never wear and should throw away.

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

not really.. my dress is still hanging in the bag all bustled up. I am contemplating donating it somewhere. The toasting flutes are pretty, I put them in one of our new glass door cabinets.
My album is on the floor in the box at my parents house. I have yet to order enlargements.

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

Not really. My dress still hasn't gone to the dry-cleaners, the flowers got tossed; I still have the earrings, but I just like them, not because they were my "wedding earrings." I'm actually debating right now whether or not to dye the shoes black to wear to a formal event we have coming up...

The pictures & DH are the two things I'm sentimentally attached to (not necessarily in that order).

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

I'm in the minority. I do have sentimental attachments and saved a lot of my wedding items in a wedding box that is under my bed. It has our invite, our favors, our table cards, our programs, stuff from each shower and my bachelorette party, etc. It's my memories box.

My dress has already been cleaned and preserved and sitting in my closet to be used down the road for something.

Re: Do you feel sentimental attachments to your wedding paraphernalia?

not really. i threw out my bo-k when we got back from our HM. i would've kept it and had it preserved but it dried out by the time we got back. my dress has not been preserved yet but thats not out of lack of love, thats out of sheer laziness Chat Icon . everything else is in a box that i dont swoon over everyday but i am comforted by the fact that we still have everything (cake cutter/knife, toasting flutes, shoes, garter, etc.). i got married last june and ONLY did my album selection last month, again out of pure laziness!

i guess i'm pretty much over the whole wedding thing. im concentrating more on the marriage aspect now!Chat Icon
