Not on my street. My street has a lot of summer only people, and some high school age children. But on the streets on either side of us there are younger age children.

Yes tons! on my block alone there are 3 babies around the same age as DD. When the weather is nice you see parents walking babies in strollers, wagons, kids riding bikes, playing basketball. Its one of the reasons I love my neighborhood.

Re: do you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood? or kids within the same age of your own children?
There are TWO toddlers within weeks of DS's age on my street and tried to GTG with the moms when our kids were very young babies (6 weeks old or so) We had 3 GTGs total, one at each of our homes. Then, that was it. I see them and we smile and wave at each other as we drive by, but we all have VERY different personalities so it was very obvious WE wouldn't all be friends when we had our little playdates last year. Now as for our boys... I'm sure they might be in years to come, but I'm not worried if they are or not. DS has lots of friends (thanks to LIF) and I'm sure he'll always have lots of playdates!

Our neighbors who just bought last year have a son 6 months older than DD. We became very close w/ them. Around the corner we made friends a few weeks ago with two couples..one has a boy 2 weeks younger than DD and the other family has a girl 3 months younger.

We have 2 other families besides us that have kids around the same age as our kids. One will go to Kindergarten with DD, and I even think the younger brother will start kindergarten with DS. There are also lots of kids around the block.

Re: do you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood? or kids within the same age of your own children?
Lots of kids around here.. a large assortment of ages. It's one of the reasons we were drawn to this town. I live on a short dead end block with only 7 houses on this side.. we have 1 college aged kid, 1 high schooler, 7 elementary aged kids and 1 pre-k and one baby.

Re: do you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood? or kids within the same age of your own children?
Yup we have tons of kids on our block of all different ages. We also have a few new young couples too who just moved in so I'm sure there will be more kids
Our block does fun stuff for the kids too. They had a halloween costume contest and for Easter they are doing an egg hunt. Hope they still do all this stuff once our ds is old enough to participate.

Tons of kids but since all my neighbors have a lot of property we hardly see them p,aying outside bc everyone is In their backyard. But I hear them all summer. I'm sure your neighborhood will turn around and new moms will start moving in!

Re: do you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood? or kids within the same age of your own children?
This is random but...
when my older brother was a baby there were NO babies around. My mom was new to the neighborhood and put an ad in the pennysaver. A few people responded and they started a playgroup.
Then when the second round of kids came (me and the other younger siblings) we had a playgroup.
We are all still friends.
We lived w/in blocks of eachother but our parents did not know it and since we were not in school yet there was no way to meet.
Why not give it a try

Re: do you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood? or kids within the same age of your own children?
My old neighborhood was the BEST! Tons of kids and toddlers, but we moved.
I don't know of any toddlers or babies yet in our new neighborhood, but there are tons of kids I would ages 5+. The bus stop at the ned of my street has tons of kids, I drive by on my way to work. I think some of those little girls may be good babysitters in a few years. I do see people walking with strollers but have no clue who they are or where they live. Hoping to find out more this summer.

There are also a lot of older individuals.

Re: do you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood? or kids within the same age of your own children?
Yes there are tons and more moving in all the time. When we first moved in though the only kids were elementary school aged and we didn't have any yet. I worried that there wouldn't be any kids their age but neighborhoods turn over. are there any older people that might be moving out soon?

Re: do you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood? or kids within the same age of your own children?
I think there is a little girl up to the block that is DS's age but we never see them. The rest are preteen-teenagers. However, we just got a new neighbor and her DD will be 6 months older than my DD and they'll be in the same class/school.
