I always thought that was a ring you bought yourself signifying independence.
I have one. I bought it in Greece.

I have a bunch of rings that I wear on my right hand depending on what I'm wearing and my mood. A few were gifts but most were handed down to me by family members.
I have a diamond & ruby cocktail ring that was my grandmother's, 2 blue topaz rings (one of them was my paternal grandmother's e-ring setting), a jade and pearl ring that my grandmother bought her mom with her first paycheck, a yellow topaz ring that was my mom's, an amethyst ring, a blue sapphire ring (the setting was my maternal grandmother's original e-ring setting), one with a piece of coral in it that my mom bought herself in Hawaii, a claddagh ring, a silver rolling ring, a Paloma Picasso XO ring and a Paloma Picasso heart ring.

I bought myself a silver Tiffany ring a few years ago. It has a rose pattern that I love. I never take it off and it is meaningful because it was a sign of independence.
I bought it in 2004 when Lord of the Rings was big with lots of symbolism of rings. I also just read The Shell Seekers which talks about life coming full circle.

same here. I have one Sapphire ring, and one emerald ring. Both were passed down through my great grandmother. I also have a ruby ring (my birthstone) that my parents got me for my Sweet 16 that I still have and wear.
