I wear my mother's wedding ring on my right hand. It was the ring I was actually married in that has the inscription:
Eternallly Yours 5-27-56
(my parents' wedding date)
She had to have it cut off her hand when she was PG with me and we had it soldered back together and resized for me to use and wear.

Yea a ring my DH gave me for our first boyfriend/ girlfriend anniversary. It is a tanzanite and diamond ring

I always thought that was a ring you bought yourself signifying independence.
I thought that was just a marketing campaign that DeBeers started about 10 years ago?
I always thought that a right hand ring was just a ring you wore on your right hand regularly, but had no real significance. 
ETA: I do have a 54ct Blue Topaz that I bought and had DH set into a ring and I wear that on my right hand when going out.

Thanks girls JT bought it for me when I was prego to wear after my wedding band and ering didn't fit anymore, now I wear it on my middle finger of my right hand.

Yes although I wear it only for special occasions my grandmother gave me her gorgeous diamond ring last year that I had admired for years. I was so happy. :)

Yes, DH bought me on for Christmas 2006. It is very pretty and I love it but only wear it for special occasisins, over the weekend, but not on a daily basis....

I wear my grandmother's wedding band on my right hand. My mom gave it to me on my wedding day - it's my most treasured possession though it's not monetarily valuable.
