Nope...although I wouldn't go so far as to say we survive just fine without it!

We have a unit upstairs for the bedrooms and a unit downstairs.

I'd love to have central air though.

Re: do you have central air?

Yes, it was a non-negotiable when we were looking for a house.

Re: do you have central air?

No, we have wall & window units. Our wall unit on the first floor is like 22,000 BTU so it cools off the entire floor no problem. Upstairs we only have AC in our bedroom and the office. I really want CAC because I hate that the bathroom is so hot!

Re: do you have central air?

We do not have it right now. We both want it. DH wants to get solar panels. It is very possible, according to the solar panel people, that our house may not be suited for them. If that is the case, we will be installing CAC in the fall while the attic is open and empty so it is easier to get the work done.

Re: do you have central air?

As part of our reno, we made sure we got it. We had window units, which made some rooms tolerable, but the house wasn't comfortable. Now, we can use the whole house and feel comfortable.

Re: do you have central air?

No. We looked into it- but because of issues with the layout of our house and the type of oil burner we have (no room for the a/c coil) we weren't able to do it. If/when we replace the oil burner we may reconsider- but we have so many trees that our house seldom gets unbearably hot. It would be nice to have but we are fine without it.

Re: do you have central air?

nope but we live in a ranch so we can always add it when we do have money - we have too many other things that need to be taken care of before that.

Re: do you have central air?

No, we got a quote for our 3bdrm 1.5 bathroom colonial and it was 9k, between the cost to install it and the cost to run it, we'd rather use fans and window units :)

Ditto this! We can't wait to get CAC when we expand the house.

Re: do you have central air?

It wasnt a big thing for us to have, but our house came with it. We did replace it last year after it broke though!

I love it being a SAHM this summer, I can't imagine living without it!

Re: do you have central air?

That was one update that the previous owners did to our house. For the most past EVERYTHING else is originally

but def the best update they did in my book.

I never had CAC just in window ac and now i cannot imagine not having the CAC I am spoiled.
