We have it as a rider on our homeowners insurance. I think it's an extra $100 a yr.

i just figured out 4% of my ring's value and its a lot more than I'm paying.

yes it is apart of my renters insurance - we actually saved money on car insurance bc of the extra policy so the renters worked out to be abut 100 a year

not really- I am going to ask my insurance agent to price on my renters policy tomorrow- but it's hard to compare with out knowing what the ring is to compare it too
b/c I want to add my w-band- and I can't imagine how much more it would be

We have ours as part of our homeowners policy. We pay $239/year.
Excellent post because it reminded me I need to get everything reappraised. The last appraisal was in 1999. I would hate to only have the 1999 value to purchase a replacement in the event something happened to it.

but since you live at home- you are limited to Chubb
all you need is your apprasial- and it's 4% of that for the year

Yes- I have a separate policy w/ Jewelers Mutual because I don't want my homeowner's to skyrocket because of a jewelry claim.
I have 5 items on my policy and I pay $298 per year.

I have 3 watches and my w-band I want to add- but I am freaked out about the cost based on my Chubb rate
