OOooOOOoh... just thought of one that's totally a LIF peeve.
The emoticons. When I want to give multiple frowny hugs, the mouse jumps up to the celebratory dude. So when someone posts that that they're having a bad day, I totally have to proofread or my reply might look like:

Other people have mentioned this, but the most obnoxious thing I've seen on LIF are the poverty-crying posts-- sad tales of how bad they're doing financially, practically asking for a handout or help... then they're posting pics from a completely unnecessary $$$ professional photoshoot. Dude, I have a magical solution for your financial concerns. It's called a "budget".

Spelling errors do not bother me as much anymore, especially since I feel I keep screwing up certain words. For example, I posted earlier today about weddings and wrote "made of honor." When I read it, I quickly fixed it and was shocked I wrote it that way! I blame lack of sleep and brain cells.
What irks me most on LIF (which I am guilty of doing myself at times) are the debates. I am pro-gay marriage/pro-choice and when everyone gangs up on someone who isn't, I find it unfair. Sure, I'd love for everyone to think the way I do, but what makes me feel like I am right? I don't have all the answers; who does?
A current thread right now is going back and forth on having kids before marriage but with plans to eventually get married. People can argue until they are blue in the face, and guess what? I doubt anyone will change his or her beliefs at the end, KWIM?
However, I am guilty of most that annoys me because I am human. I think. I'm a hypocrite and fickle, but I own it, and try not to be.

One other thing on this site that is annoying but interesting is the thought police. People (myself many times!) are always getting accused of "judging". What that really translates to is "expressing a minority opinion", or also "hitting a nerve" with people who took your post personally.
A grammar/spelling pet peeve I have is "loose" vs. "lose". You did not "loose" weight.
(edited for a typo I made! oh the irony!)

To me, as long as it doesn't sound offensive or has ill intent, I see nothing wrong..I feel we have to ask questions in order to learn about one another sometimes.

I don't mean to cause  but I think it's kind of lame how many of you are peeved by people making spelling and grammatical mistakes.
I don't really think someone else's poor grasp of the English language should be annoying.
Idk- it's probably worthless for me to even throw this comment out there, but whatever, it's just my honest reaction...

I agree with you. No one is perfect and I don't know about anyone else, but I don't feel like I'm in school here with nuns beating my hands with rulers.
I even gots me one of dem those college degrees and I still make mistakes.
Even if you're a MENSA member, you can still make mistakes.
