Do you invite entire pre-k class to bday party?
DD (turning 5 in Jan) hasn't had a preschool party yet. Last year, she was invited to many and the entire class was included. That class was only 10 kids. This year she is in a class of 16. She wants to invite them all. But then there are also my friends' kids, who she sees often and attends all their parties, and also cousins who are same age. The list is way too big. Just curious what other people do.

Re: Do you invite entire pre-k class to bday party?
yes we invited the whole class and she had about 18 kids. the whole class didn't come but a good portion did. this was preschool. i felt bad not inviting all of them esp. since they talk about it.
this year her prek teacher actually asked to either invite all or none she only has 8 kids total so we will be inviting all of them . i would have invited all of them even if the teacher didn't say it cause i would have felt bad. there are kids in the other class she wants to invite i probably wont invite all of them but i am not 100% sure yet.
the trend lately in my school has been school parties. people bring favors and everything in i guess that another alternative though i will not be doing that.

We invited everyone, but we usually have home parties so it's not super expensive. In DS' elementary school, the rule is to invite everyone, invite no one, or just one gender (no picking and choosing which kids to invite so it doesn't cause hard feelings).

Re: Do you invite entire pre-k class to bday party?
I'm a teacher, and I'm pretty sure the school can't tell you who to invite. We've said don't send in invites unless you either invite everyone, or all of one gender, but if moms contact each other outside of school, or the invites are mailed, the school should stay out of it. For my DS's 4th birthday, this past October, I invited all his outside of school friends, friends from mommy and me stuff, and the kids from his class that I knew their moms well, or he talked about non-stop.I work full time, so I don't know all the parents. It was at a place and were capped at a certain number. Last June, we had a school party at our house and invited the whole class. Some didn't even RSVP, so I didn't feel I needed to invite them to his birthday.

We invited my DD's whole class and they all came (14 kids I think)! I didn't think they would all say yes. And we invited some of our outside friends and cousins. My DD was so happy everyone came and it turned out to be a great party.

No. Each of my twins got to invite 2 friends each from school. Then we invited all of their cousins and then all of our friends with kids.

Re: Do you invite entire pre-k class to bday party?
Yup.
And since DD1 and DD2's birthdays are 11 days apart, I have a double party every year. So I invite two classes of kids, friends' kids, and cousins.
The good news is that only about half of them come, so it's hectic but usually not total mayhem lol.

I grappled with this and didn't.
DS 1 was in pre-k at daycare, and then went to UPK elsewhere in the afternoon, and when he went back to daycare he went to aftercare (since he had been in pre-k also with many kindergarteners at the time).
I chose the kids he was closest with and knew the longest.
ETA: We invited 25 kids. Everyone responded yes except 1 person. 2 people backed out at the last minute due to sickness.

Re: Do you invite entire pre-k class to bday party?
last year when dd was in pre k she just invited the girls. I think the rule was if you were going to send invited out in school to either invite the whole class or just the girls or just the boys.
