I have some stuff on our work computer but I now use google docs for almost all my excel budgeting stuff that I need. It allows me to log into it from any computer and edit and change things. I keep my checking account registry on it, so if I deposit money and then go to work, I can log in and update my file from work. It allows me to use to the work computer without actually storing it on there.

I have folder on my desktop with some personal stuff. I have one budget spreadsheet that is password protected. I never keep anything personal on the network drives - it's too easy for several people to access.
I do the same. I've a folder with my personal stuff and anything that I may be too persona is password protected.

i do... i have a bunch of stuff AT work.. but its all on a personal flash drive that i unplug every day... and there are several documents / databases on that drive that are of financial tracking which are all password protected....

ditto and every search and everything you do on your work pc..even deleted emails at my firm

im a forensic investigator and if you use a work computer, you have zero privacy. that said...we only investigate people who have an allegation against them. we don't just look at someones computer for the fun of it...we need a reason. i would ask your boss what made him look. did he feel you were doing something wrong?
