Do you leave the AC on for your pets?

During the day, when no one but our fur babies are home, do you leave the AC on for them?

I put one of the AC's on in the room that Jake spends the most time in. I just put it on Energy Saver mode and set the temp a little higher than we would normally set it on so it's not constantly going on/off. I also leave the ceiling fan on in the living room and bedroom. Just wondering what you guys do??

yes.....i leave the fan on in the kitchen and the window openned a little. and i put the ac on before i leave for a hr timer

I set it at 78.. so it never gets hotter than that.. but I always catch him on the sunbathing by the window.. regardless of how hot it is.. and there's plenty of areas with shade..

Always. My dogs are wimps with heat though, and they are really affected by humidity and high temperatures.

on low and only one air conditioning unit is on for the entire house. They can move to a hotter or cooler room (two cats) and i am finding the last few days they are parked right in the direct line of the air.

I leave the A/C on plus the fan in the kitchen where his crate is.

the AC temp goes to 80 during the day but I keep the shades down in our bedroom...where I know they spend most of their time, sleeping!

I left in on when I went away for a few days. My friend, and cat sitter, was glad to have the AC. My cat? She was never in the room with AC!!!!

My girl just doesn't like AC.

Yes, especially on days like today. I would feel so bad leaving them in a hot house.

I leave it on energy save at about 73 degrees.

It's more for my peace of mind.

I'm so glad to see you guys do this too. A friend was over the other day and when we were leaving, she asked if I was going to turn the AC off. I told her no b/c I didn't want him to get too hot. She just looked at me like I was crazy and just said (in a sarcastic voice) "wow - what a lucky dog!" What's crazy is she has 2 little dogs herself. I just can't fathom leaving him in a hot house.

Of course. We have central air set to 65 at all times.

Only on the super hot days. We put ice in her water dish and leave cooler ice packs around the living room. She doesn't like being in the a/c and prefers to hide under the couches or in our closet when it gets warm. We make sure there's plenty of ventilation though.

Our room is cool from the AC being on all night. I leave the ceiling fan on in that room and keep the dark shades closed. I work from home on Fridays, and the room is still cool well into the afternoon - not cold but probably in the high 70's.

We also leave a ceiling fan on in the other bedroom with the window open so there is ventilation.

I like the ice in the water dish and ice packs, I think I will try those tomorrow since its supposed to be real hot.

Always. I put it on energy save at around 71 degrees. I'd hate for my little Boo to be uncomfortable.

Yes! I leave it on energy saver set at 74. I do not want my pets getting sick from the heat.

Always and a fan. My dog is more of a winter fan

Yupp, it's so hot right now, I can't even stand to be in the house for more than 5 minutes without the AC on lately. I do put it on energy saver so that it'll turn itself off and on as needed during the day. When it's a little cooler (lows 80s, not as muggy), I just leave it on fan only and open the windows.

I turn off the AC when I leave the house but I have tiles running throughout my livingroom dining room and kitchen so the coolness is maintained throughout the day. I leave the ceiling fans on. It is actually very comfortable when we come home from work.

We didn't even have an air conditioner the first summer we had our house... until we got the dog!!

Fortunately we have a very small house so we can close off the rooms we aren't using and just leave one unit running on an energy saver setting and it keeps everything at a comfortable temperature.

All for her though!

w/out a doubt. I turn on one in the dining room & one in the living room. both are set @ 69. I also close my bedroom door so the dogs cant go in b/c we only use that one @ night. These are my babies, I could never leave them unless I know they are completely comfy.

We have cnetral Air so it's on all the time with the fans. I think they are thankful that we keep it on for them! I also leave water with Ice Cubes in the! They always looks for me when I get home to put ice Cubes in it!!!!

Yes, especially since we live in a place where it gets really hot in the summer months.

Yes I leave it on when I'm out. He has more hair than I do so I figure he's more likely to get hot than me.
