Closed- every single night.
If you ever watch the specials on 20/20 or Dateline that show a fire in a house and an open bedroom door you will know why I close our bedroom doors. In an fire with the door closed your child has more time before smoke and fire enter the room. They took the tempature of the actual crib with the door open and it was so hot a child would have been burned in no time. But with the door closed the fire fighters/parents had several minutes more to get to the room.

closed and shut. He is a very light sleeper and also for fire reasons. He has his own smoke detector in there as well.

Everyones door is closed and the gate at the top of the stairs is locked... to keep the cats out and for fire safety reasons and also the opening door gives me a heads up to the kids being out of their room
