Do you leave your baby unattended with a pacifier?
Of course all the warnings on the packages have me paranoid-- pulling the thing before and after use, never leaving the child unattended... Are those warnings there for liability issues, or do you really have to be a Paci-Nazi? Wow, that's an oxymoron!

Re: Do you leave your baby unattended with a pacifier?
Both use paci when Im not over them.. never thought about it being a problem. I do tug on them to make sure they are not becoming worn and possible breakage. eta: (the paci i tug on..not my dds. )

Re: Do you leave your baby unattended with a pacifier?
I only use the brand names pacifiers, it seems that the doller store ones are the ones that have trouble and are recalled. I guess that gives me a better sense of security leaving her alone with it.

Yes, I leave her unattended and/or sleeping with it. I use the soothie pacifier which is all one piece.

Yes, all the time. I never even saw those warnings.
We did switch pacifiers around month 8 because I found DD with the hard part of the paci in her mouth and it scared the heck out of me.

i did this as well.
the other ones actually did make me nervous b/c DS would put them in his mouth the wrong way and they sometimes got "stuck" sideways. that is why i am glad we switched to the soothie pacifiers.
but during the day i used to give the "other" kind to him all the time.

I never even saw a warning either. I always left him unattended with tem, but I never bought cheapo like Dollar store ones, they scare me.

Me too.. ugh, now I am paranoid too! We just switched from the soothies to the Avent ones, because she seems like like the shape of the avent better.

Re: Do you leave your baby unattended with a pacifier?
Yes. I've never heard of any warnings not to. In fact, I have only read the opposite, that pacifiers decrease the risk of SIDS.

Re: Do you leave your baby unattended with a pacifier?
um, yes, all the time... they sleep with them, and I give it to them in the car. I never saw any warnings. I did read on the Avent package that it was ok if the whole paci winds up in their mouth, that they are designed for that just in case it happens.

Ok, I could have SWORN one of the packages said, Do not leave baby unattended with pacifier. Maybe it's just the newborn ones??

Re: Do you leave your baby unattended with a pacifier?
Hmm that's a weird warning since they actually recommend sleeping with one to prevent SIDS!

No need to be a Paci-Nazi lol....
I left my son unattended with the pacifer...as long as you keep making sure that there are no tears or breakage in the plastic..

Re: Do you leave your baby unattended with a pacifier?
I do ~ I do constantly look at them pull on them to make sure they are not wearing ~ I upgrade accordingly. (the smaller ones DS starting putting the hard plastic in his mouth and freaked me out) I purchase new ones every couple of months and will keep doing that as long as DS is using them.

Yup. Dd has been going to sleep with a paci in her mouth since she was 7 months old.
