Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
I never thought I would be a SAHM but I will be staying home indefinitely after giving birth to DC#2.
I've wanted to stay home ever since I went back to work from maternity leave after having DS. At first I thought it was a phase and that I would eventually get over the missing feeling but I want to be a SAHM more and more everyday. DH will now be able to support us financially. He was still in residency last year.

I will be a SAHM for about 6 months or so, then I'll go back to subbing and looking for a full time position for the following school year.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
I will either work from home or be a SAHM for the first year.
I am debating when to bring it up to my boss since I have only been here 4 months, however there are a handful of people who do my exact same job and work from home completely so I am hoping he lets me.
If not, I will miss my salary but to me it is worth it for a year home with my first child.

contine working. we can afford for DH to stay at home, but he's not interested in being a SAHD. darn.
optimally i would like to work 3x a week, but I work in banking and am lucky to have a job right now that pays me what I get paid. and i have a flexible schedule that I can work remotely if needed.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
I went back to work FT after a 6 month leave when DD was born. That lasted a week.
I then changed to PT status (3 full days/week).
After this baby is born, that's it... I will not be returning to work.

SAHM for one school year. I will probably try to tutor as much as I can to get some extra cash. If I were to go back to school next year, I would have to switch schools, or move grades. My current position is just too demanding.

I would love to be SAHM and the closer I get to having LO, the more I wish it was possible. I have great insurance coverage and we really need my salary though!

Oh this is awesome! Congrats!
I will be going back on November 1st. I have a great job, flexible schedule and amazing benefits - hopefully that will make it a bit easier!

I will be a SAHM. I previously worked at DH's business so I can kinda go in whenever is good for me and take care of some work.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
I'll be going back to work after my six weeks...it stinks but at least my mom is going to watch the baby. Plus I'm a teacher so I'm out of work by 3:00 so it's not that bad.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
I will consider myself a SAHM but I do work from home.
I will keep clients I have but will definitely focus mostly on being a SAHM.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
I'll definitely continue working, although not sure to which capacity.
We just spoke about it yesterday for the first time (at 10 weeks pregnant). We're going to look into all of the options and what is financially feesible for us. DH and I both make great salaries, we can live off 1, but we like our lifestle too much to totally give it up.
The best option is to work from home 25 hours a week...plus I can freelance doing bridal makeup on the weekends (which is always great cash)
Another option is to keep my position in the city, but ask to do twice a week from home (although it's doubtful they'd let me do that).
If I had to stay doing what I'm doing now, it would be tough on me emotionally-but I would do it if that's what we needed to do. Commuting 5 days a week into the city for 11 hour days wouldn't be ideal.
I'm glad we started talking about it early so we can devise a budget plan and see what will work best for us and baby.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
Unfortunately, I don't have a choice... I need to work. I really wish I could stay home, even if it's just for a year, but we just can't swing it. I do hope to be able to work from home once a week though, and both sets of parents have volunteered to babysit so ideally we will only need day care 2x a week.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
I will be a SAHM. I also thought I would never want to stay home....I really love my career and have always been focused on it. But, when we found out we were having twins, I decided it was the best thing to do. I will be doing some private consulting on the side to make some money. It will be a big financial shift for us, but I think it will be an amazing experience.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
We need my salary so as much as I would love to be a SAHM, I will be going back after 12 weeks off. I am going to ask to work from home at least one day a week so I am only gone 4 days a week.. My mom is going to babysit and I am close enough where I can go home during lunch so I think it will all work out.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?
I will continue to be a SAHM. I was off for 9 months on an extended LOA from my job when I had my DD, and when I went back to work, after a few months we decided it was better for me to be at home.

I will be going back to work right after my maternity leave. I would like to scale back but we have to see if that is doable...
