Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?

I'll be going back after 10 weeks. I love DS and it was so hard to leave him in the beginning but I love my job and this will only be my 2nd year so I can't take a very long maternity leave. I'm a library media specialist in a middle school and honestly would not want to give it up. I'm home by 3:15 and have plenty of vacations plus my summer off. It's the ideal situation for me. My mother and in-laws will watch both the kids while I'm at school.

Re: Do you plan to continue working or SAH after the baby is born?

After having #1 I went back to work full time until his first birthday, and then I quit. F/T was not for me. Shortly after I went back to work p/t for a small company. I work about 2 days/20 hours a week. I hope to continue working here after the twins come as long as I can figure out childcare so I am not working just to pay for childcare. That might mean me switching my days and hours. But I do love working p/t.

Nope...I am going out around thanksgiving then I will be back like March 7th. But I teach so the school year is almost over then I have the summer. But we cannot afford for me to be SAHM. Maybe when I do the 2nd or 3rd I can take a year off from work....we shall see

I am a teacher and am planning to go back to work. We really can't afford for me to stay home.

It isn't easy to come by teaching jobs these days.

In some ways I am lucky that I am in a private school because my schedule will be more flexible. More days off, more half days.

The bad thing is that the pay isn't great and if I want to take off a year and come back, they will not allow me to.

I wish I can stay home

Maybe with baby #2 I will.

I plan to still teach yoga but I'm cutting way back. I currently teach 10-11 classes a week. I plan to teach about 5 classes and maybe a private. I make my own schedule, so it should work out ok.

Going back p/t.. 20 hours a week.. 2 days in the office and a few hours at home. I am SO happy with the arrangement.

Oh this is awesome! Congrats!

I will be going back on November 1st. I have a great job, flexible schedule and amazing benefits - hopefully that will make it a bit easier!

Aww thanks! Took some negotiating and wiggling but will be worth it in the end I hope!

Being a f/t working Mom in the gov't will be great, everyone here raves about the flexibility. Plus, don't you get to sit near the bathroom? Chat Icon

I will be going back to work after 12 weeks, full time. We rely on my salary, and we use my job's insurance benefits, so there really is no choice. I am not too upset about it, I always wanted to continue to work. My mom will likely be watching LO, while we work.
