Do you return bottles and cans at the grocery store/beer distributor/etc.?

Just wondering. DH and I do. We figure we already paid the deposit and we're already on our way in to the store, so why not get it back. And we're pretty green overall in the household.

I don't. There's an Asian woman with about 5 shopping carts that picks up all the cans/bottles in my neighborhood. She's got like 3 cars and a nice house, too!

yup, we sure do... when we accumulate enough to make it a nice chunk of change. which goes right into our vacation fund. hey, every little bit helps.

although our laundry room is quite overflowing with bottles and cans at the moment. we're due.

I don't. I just recycle them at home.

We do. What ever we get back we put in our change jar.

Yes. DH returns all bottles and cans. He puts the money he gets in DS's piggy bank.

I do it, but mostly for the 'green' aspect of it. I could care less about the $, it's not a whole lot anyway.

we dont drink soda and very little beer so we really dont have any deposit items. We do recycle all of the cans and bottles that we do have though.

Yup - Especially since we pay a deposit on water bottles now.

We have a separate can for the bottles that go back. We bring them back maybe once every 2 months.

ETA - we use the slips that come out of the machine at the register to put it towards what we are buying. It's usually around $5.

Most of the time I do. I have a tall laundry basket in the corner of my kitchen where I toss the empties.

We never do. We leave them out for the can collectors

We do at the grocery store. Then I use the receipt I get as a coupon when I do a food shopping.

We don't, but that is force of habit. We used to live in MD until recently, where we can't get our deposit back. I forgot we can now!

I do! I use the money towards my grocery bill, even if it's just a few bucks or cents. Every penny helps!
