We don't - there's a homeless man that comes to our neighborhood on collection days so we put them out for him.

yup! it goes in our change jar and is saved for vacations...it was an extra $200+ in our pockets for our honeymoon (saved over the year & 1/2 we planned our wedding)

We do. What ever we get back we put in our change jar.
same here!
we used to throw them out... but we entertain so much we gave it a try. after 1 year of that and just misc change in the jug... it was like $250. kinda nice!

It depends. When we went on vacation, we saved all the bottles and cans and gave the kids the money for their spending money.
Other times we will just recycle.

yup, we do. you pay a deposit every time you buy them so why not return them. it's a return on your money, and your' helping the environment.

Nope. There's a woman in the neighborhood who comes around and collects them. She always has a field day at our house after a party.

Just because people don't return them at the grocery store doesn't mean they're not recycling them. Our village picks up recycling every Wednesday, so we put them out then.

No. We put them out with our recycling, which means there is usually someone who comes around & collects them out of the pail prior to the garbage collection.
& also because many times I purchase Coca-Cola cans from PA, where we don't pay the deposit.

ITA... we have a recycling pick up the same as regular garbage... it has nothing to do with returning them for money!

We do, we don't drink a lot of soda, but we have some cans and DH's beer bottles. We put it towards our groceries.

Heck yea!
We either stack the reciepts and use them towards a shopping trip, or, get the cash and let it build up in our coin jar!
Now, that water bottles are deposited, you better believe we "cash" them in!

We collected them all and then DH takes the kids once a month to do it. The kids split the money and they get to put it in their piggy banks.
DH and I drink a lot of soda in cans, so there are many cans to bring back, I would hate to lose the money I can get back easily.

Yes - we do. In Brooklyn, we use the machines at Waldbaums but they are often packed...so we only go when we have a ton to return.
