I live on 3rd floor and take the stairs most of the time, unless we have bags with groceries in them...

Re: Do you ride the elevator to the second floor?

If the stairs are RIGHT next to the elevator and I don't ahve to look for them.. I take the stairs (I do this at my doctors).

But I will admit that at work I take the elevator EVERYDAY even though we are only on the 3rd floor.Chat Icon

In my own defense (which actually makes me sound worse) - I'd have to walk a bit to get to the stairs.

As much as possible, I try to take the stairs. When I am with the kids, we have to take the elevator due to the stroller so I when I am "strollerless", I take the stairs!Chat Icon

I look at it as a way to get exercise in.

I still try to take the stairs whenever possible but at 22 wks pregnant, I am wimping out more often!

Re: Do you ride the elevator to the second floor?

I lived on the second floor of my college dorm back in the olden days of the late 80s and I took the elevator all the time. Whenever someone saw a second floor person get on, they would push us out and I'd shout "Hey, my father busted his butt so I could take this elevator! Out of my way!" I could kick some azz back then.

Re: Do you ride the elevator to the second floor?

Stairs ALWAYS GOING DOWN...

Usually Stairs going up... unless I have shopping or my mail in my hand... or someone holds it for me and then I feel bad...

But lately since I am prego I find myself finding a reason more and more to take the elevator up hehehe lol.

ETA... I used to work on the 31st floor in the city, and I would take the stairs down once a day for excercise... usually to go get lunch... hehehe lol

Re: Do you ride the elevator to the second floor?

At my old job, 85% of the time I would take the stairs. Even when I was pg, I'd take the staris.

It drove me nuts that the women in my office doing WW would all take the elevators. Two short flights of stairs!

At work I usually take the elevator up, but the stairs down. Our stairs are a weird design and I have tripped going up them more than once. they also get very slippery when they are wet (when it's raining out and people trail in water).

Everywhere else I generally take the stairs.

This drove me NUTS about my job when I worked in the city. We HAD to take the elevator to the second floor. We always walked down, but there were only the fire stairs and you couldn't go UP themChat Icon
