i give it a quick rinse and pat dry before i cook it up...

yes. the only thing I don't rinse is ground beef.

No, rinsing it just spreads the bacteria around the rest of your kitchen, and the heat of the cooking kills it off anyway. I just marinate it and cook it!

I never thought of that, I'm going to have to stop rinsing the chicken.

i scrub my chicken with salt and lemon. i know it doesnt really help anything but i hate how slimy chicken is LOL i then dry it with paper towels.

I rinse nothing. Any bad germies are killed when cooked.

eta: I rinse fish, especially scallops and shellfish. They can have sand.

I was just going to say the same thing. I do this also, as for spreading bacteria, I clean the chicken in my kitchen sink & just disinfect my sink afterwards with bleach!

No, it's already kinda late when I start to cook so I don't want to add one more step.
I do rinse a whole chicken and all my shellfish when I cook them.

yes i do that too

just wanted to add that i worked in a supermarket for six years and after seeing what can happen in the meat section. . .I will always wash my meat. To me, it is like fruit - people have to handle it before it gets to you so I would rather clean it!
