Do you take DC to the doctor for a low grade fever and cough?
DS has a low grade fever (101) and a cough. He always has a cough so that's not alarming.
I'm thinking the fever maybe teething related-at 11.5 months he still has no teeth.
I'm thinking just wait and see but I hate that it's the weekend and the ped isn't available sat/sun if it gets worse. I guess we could see how tonight goes and take him to urgent care in the morning?
(DS is 1)

Funny that you should post this as I am dealing with the same thing. My almost 9 month old (no teeth yet either) has had a low grade fever for two days (99.6) a stuffy nose and a light cough. I keep thinking that I should bring him in to be seen but he doesn't seem cranky and the fever is relatively low.
Curious to see what others think...

I would give Motrin or Tylenol and wait it out. Especially since you said he's always coughing, I wouldn't be too concerned.
We had the same thing here last week - low grade fever, coughing & general crankiness. Lo & behold during one of DD's screaming fits, I got a look inside her mouth & saw two molars poking through.

Re: Do you take DC to the doctor for a low grade fever and cough?
DD has been coughing for 3 weeks, and because she had no fever or runny nose or anything, I blew it off and didn't take her to the ped. BUT, yesterday, because of the holiday I was off from work, I decided to take her "just in case" since her birthday is coming up, and lo and behold - she has strep.
I've been feeling guilty and horrible that I ignored it b/c it was "just" a cough. The ped told me strep often shows up in infants and toddlers this way b/c it backs up into the nasal cavity and becomes a post nasal drip (which causes the cough) instead of settling in the throat causing your little one to complain.
So, based on my very recent experience - I would take your DS to the MD. Can't hurt.

Re: Do you take DC to the doctor for a low grade fever and cough?
We went today. DS has had a fever for about 4 days (low grade), and a cough for longer, not sure how long at this point. He's been out of daycare the last 3 days, and honestly, DH and I both need to be back at work on Monday, so I brought him more to make sure he was okay and had no infection.
He has no infection, but his doctor thought he had a combination of a cold and allergies, so the treatment is a little different. Wouldn't hurt to go if you can.
