Do you think a glider/rocker is a must have in the nursery?
Just curious, are you getting one? Do you think it's a must?

My plan is not to rock our baby to sleep. Of course, I know the baby will have her own plan...
I want to have a glider in the nursery for nursing purposes and for bedtime stories.

We got one but I don't think it's a must. It was our personal splurge - more for me and my comfort than for the baby. If we didn't have one, she wouldn't know the difference.

We got one to rock the baby to sleep and as she nurses. It's not a must though, I don't think. It's for my comfort as well.

the first few months i didnt use, now at 10.5 months its a must for me. Its how i rock my dd to sleep for naps and bedtime.

This is exactly why I didn't want to use it. I was afraid it was cause too much of a habit for him and that he would always have to be rocked to sleep.

Our nurseries are not big enough for that much furniture. So we ordered a neutral one and keep it in the office for night feedings. Worked well for us

I barely used mine. I ended up nursing in my own bedroom.
I used it maybe 10 times in over 1 year to rock DS.

We also got one but it definitly is not a must have.
If you have the room and money for it great, if not just find some comfortable seating somewhere in the house!

nope didnt have one for any of my kids and wont have one for this one..I dont want the habit of rocking them like others said.I never had a problem just laying my child to sleep and Id rather stick with that method..As for when you feed the child I find the couch is very comfortable.

It's definitely not a necessity. We're not getting one, since I don't have space for one in his room. We have a recliner/rocker in the living room that I may use if necessary.

It just calms her down before bed, i feed her her last bottle in chair and then rock a few mins and then put her in crib and she passes out. Im lucky i dont have to rock her until she falls asleep, just enough to calm her body down after playing.

for me, yes! for DS, no.
i don't rock him to sleep, but i do sit in it and gently rock him while feeding him. he's never been rocked to sleep and he's 6 weeks old.
i wouldn't have anywhere else to sit and a regular couch is too uncomfortable especially at 3am. i like being able to go to his room, close the door, feed and change him and get him back to sleep without having to go to another room to sit in.
so for me, i couldn't do without it. i didn't think i'd like it this much.
