Do you think this is a sign?
As most of you know, my father passed away almost two weeks ago. Let me preface this by saying that I'm not usually into "signs".
My father had been adamant that the baby was a girl. In the Jewish religion, we name babies after people who have passed away. Since my father's passing, we changed our potential names to names beginning with his first initial, A.
On the last day of shiva at my mother's house, we had a flood from the main line. It was going to be taken care of on Thursday. On Thursday, while driving to work, my sister found herself behind a plumbing truck for OurBoy'sName Plumbing (i.e., A___'s Plumbing). Okay, I thought that was kind of funny, but didn't think too much about it.
On Saturday, DH's family came over to help us make our spare bedroom into a livable guest room for my mother to stay when the baby comes (this wasn't the original plan, but since my father passed, she is coming to stay for a bit.). My FIL found an old piece of mail that had been sent to our apartment (we moved into our house 4 years ago), that was addressed to OurBoy'sName OurLastName. Our baby boy's name was literally typed out on the envelope! For some reason, we had never opened that piece of mail; and it had traveled with us to our house!
After my father passed, I was sure that this  was a girl, because he had been adamant about it. Now, I'm wondering if he knows something different and is trying to let us know that it's a boy....Like I said, I'm not usually into signs, but that letter really freaked me out!

my father passed when i was 19  so i know the feeling ...
signs are everywhere, we just need to be open to them i believe that it IS a sign

I always think of "signs" as your heart's way of comforting yourself and giving you a little confidence that the universe is watching out for you. Whether your dad's sending you a message or trying to joke around with you as you await your baby's arrival, I love it!!!

OMG! I can't wait for this baby to be born!! I think because of you I will have to be team for my next baby. That moment when the baby does come will be such a surprise for you and DH.
By the way, I always thought it was a for you from the beginning however towards the end I was thinking  but now Im going back to

my dad passed 17years ago and I def think he is throwing me signs here and there.
Oh Im so excited for you. that just seems too much of a sign to ignore.

Agree all around. What a lovely story--be it a boy or a girl. I hope it brings you some peace and comfort at this time.
I attended a sprinkle for my friend's wife this past fall. The last gift to be opened was a newborn blue sweater which I found odd since they were team green (and we all thought for sure they would have another girl). As it goes...
During the pregnancy, my friend's grandmother passed away. She had been living for years with his mother and sister and her family. After her death, the mom was clearing out her room and came across this hand-knit boy's sweater. She had never seen it before; never saw her knitting or buying any baby items whatsoever--as it was the grandmother was very old and suffering from dementia upon her death. It was a complete mystery. His mom took it and wrapped it for the sprinkle saying it was "grandma's gift" for the baby. Six days later--and about three weeks early--their baby BOY arrived.

Yes..totally a sign from your dad.
My dad passed when I was 12. When I was waiting to adopt my baby I kept asking my dad to send me a healthy baby girl (I would have taken a healthy boy too!) Anyway every time I spoke to my dad or thought about the baby that was on the way, I saw the number 13 on the clock..my dad's birthday was March 13th.
Long story short..we now have a beautiful, healthy baby girl! Her middle name is after my father.
Can't wait to see what your little on is...
