It's a fight we have. Kids love to get new pj everyday.
I hate the laundry.
They only sleep in them... so they are clean.
Changing them is a remnant from diapers and stink.

Until my kids were about 6 or seven they always got new pjs every night. Now they wear them twice unless they are sick then new ones nightly.

They usually wear them twice befor I wash them. Unless it’s the weekend and we’re hanging out at home. Then when they change later in the day, their pjs go in the hamper.

Re: Do you wash your child(ren)'s PJs after one wear?

my boys are sweaty beasts and so yes they need to be washed after each use.

my middle child wears short pajamas to bed in the winter and uses a fan. We can't ever put him in fleece pj's or he wakes up soaked!!!!!

I just want to know how many pairs of pj's they must own. Or how often they have to do laundry!

Probably about 12-15 pairs. I do her laundry once a week. I actually don't know why I don't let her re-wear them, she goes straight from the bath into the pajamas and gets dressed before she even leaves her room in the morning so it's actually pretty dumb.

I also don't know why she has so many pajamasChat Icon

I would not even be able to stuff all those into her dresser! LOL! I have a hard enough time with like 7 pairs of winter ones!!

These kids own more PJ than me. It does seem absurd to me washing after 1-3 times wearing since most kids seem to take baths at night so they're clean, but hey.... lol,

No they wear their pajamas a few times before I wash them, unless they either spill food on them or pee through them or something like that. Or if we stay home the next day & they wear them all day & they get sweaty. But if the pajamas don't get soiled & are only worn during sleep, they can wear them a bunch of times before washing.

I wear a different set every night and so do my kids. I don't know about anyone eles but I sweat in my sleep. Maybe early menopausal signs but I can't rewear pjs lol. It's just a habit with the kids. I must have 12 pairs for my daughter so she has plenty.

Re: Do you wash your child(ren)'s PJs after one wear?

My DS wears fresh pajamas every night. I do a load of his laundry once a week and that would be the same with or without the extra pajamas to wash, so it doesn't make a difference to me in terms of extra work.

My kids are always playing all over the floor in the morning, wiping their greasy hands and getting crumbs all over their PJs at breakfast, so yes, I usually wash their PJs after each wear. Unless it's my toddlers fleece SleepSack. I try to take that off him as soon as he wakes up so I don't have to wash it everyday.

My kids wear them twice and then they get washed. We give them baths/showers every other night as long as they are not filthy.

Same here - sometimes bathe more often in summer depending on how sweaty/dirty he got

There was a thread about cleaning schedules and someone said they clean their cabinets like once a week or something.
I have been in my house 16 years now and I think I cleaned my cabinets 2-3 times.

My DD doesn't go directly to daycare in the morning- she goes to my sister/mom's house and they drop her at daycare in the afternoon. It saves us money since we pay hourly rates at daycare. So I don't get her dressed in the AM. I pack her bag and load her into the car in her jammies. So one wear and they get washed. And yes, she has about 10 set of PJs. It's not bad, I get 2 or 3 of the carter's 4 PC. mix and match sets and then a couple of footies for when it's very cold. She also has some hand me down PJs from a friend with a daughter a year older than her. I do her laundry about once a week since she has piles and piles of clothes.

If it makes you feel any better mine used to wear a new pair everyday out of sheer laziness of me not folding them and putting them back in their drawer and the nanny did their laundry. Now that they're older they basically throw their pjs on the floor and rewear them, same as their mom Chat Icon

So, DH and I had this debate a few months ago,, he thought I was gross for not changing my kids pjs every night and I of course shot back with how ridiculous he was and how i didn't have time to do laundry every day and if he felt so strongly about it he could do their laundry.. Anyway I walked away thinking this was another ridiculous thing he learned from his mom--- I ended up posting this same question on a fb page for moms and i was floored by the number of people said that they change pjs every day!

To answer the OP --- I usually change pjs every 2 -3 days

I used to give them fresh PJ's every night but now that I have 3, I almost lost my mind with the laundry. I'm practically suicidal now that we are back in sock season. Anyway, to help, my older two wear them twice. My little guy is constantly peeing through his diaper so he gets new ones.

My son sweats like a pig every night, so he gets different jammies every night!

When they were still in diapers they got a fresh pair daily but, after that - it was every 2-3 days.
