Does anyone else ever feel........(DH vent!)
That your DH can sometimes be completely "helpless" when it comes to your child?
I went out for an hour, AN HOUR!! earlier. I wanted to grab a few gifts for Mother's Day tommorrow and didn't want to bring DS with me so I could be quick running in and out and not have to lug the stroller in and out of everywhere.
He calls me up about 1/2 hour into my trip demanding that I hurry up and come home because the baby "won't stop crying".
I finish doing what I am doing, get home, walk in the front door where DS is sitting in his seat in front of Noggin and smell something strong...........
Scoobey doo mystery is solved..........he has a poopy diaper. DH can't recognize this?
He's like "I just have so much to do around the house today and I didn't smell that while you were gone".
Am I the only one that goes through this?

i dont get this as much as i get " feed me" when the fridge is FULL of food. He can take care of the baby but he cant take care of himself and the baby. I come home to an unshowered, dirty, unfed cranky husband if he was alone with baby.

Yes..I get this as well. I work late on Monday nights so I don't get home til 10pm. Usually on those nights I get either text messages or phone calls saying "he won't stop crying" or "he is very cranky." I really don't understand this! When I'm with him he hardly ever cries or fusses. Usually only for a bottle or a diaper. That's it. I love when I get home from work on my regular days (around 6pm) and DH says "oh, I think he needs a new diaper" as soon as I walk in the house. When I ask him when his diaper was changed last he usually tells me that our daycare lady did it....at 2pm!!!! He is sitting in a soaking wet diaper for hours!!! GEEZ!!!
At least I know I'm not alone.
ETA: My favorite is if I have something to do/go to and DH has the baby. And, if he has something he wants to do then he drops the baby off at his mom's!!!!! This drives me INSANE!!! I take DS with me everywhere...dr appointments, supermarket, mall, shopping....everywhere. And, I love that when DH has something to do (i.e., eye dr. appointment) he drops DS off. Why can't he take him along with him!!!!???

OMG!!! DH told me too he was "getting ready to call his mom to come help" but pretend it was to show his aunt who is over visiting for the weekend, some work he's done around the house.
On the other hand, I think they grow out of it when the become grandfathers. DH's mom says his dad was the same way, but now he's Matthew's primary caregiver during the day and dotes on him!
