yes!! I was told it was because we have forced air heating, but even if the heat is off, I can't keep up Chat Icon

Yes but I think it's more cat hair than dust.
My cats shed to the point where you can clone them daily from the hair they leave behind! Chat Icon

Yes, I have 1 cat, 4 finches, and a husband with long black hair. We have a lot of dust.

Once the heat is turned on, there is always dust. Then the pollen comes and I have about 1 month without dusting all the time.

We used to live in a apt that had forced air heat, and it was like that. Since we moved, I never thought I could be so happy about baseboards!

Yes. I attribute it to the forced air heating and cooling system.

Yup, same here. And I have a dust allergy so it's a nightmare. NEVER had this problem until I moved into a house with forced air.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Me too! And, I thought it was just my embarrassing problem. I dust with damp microfiber cloths which helps, but it comes right back. I can't and don't want to clean every day, I've too much else to do. Now I feel better. I'm not alone! Chat Icon

But I have no "normal" heating system of any kind... We heat with a woodburning stove!!

Re: Does anyone else have a really dusty house?

i think it depends what you live near by, my old house was right next to 2 main roads and the traffic would cause ALOT of dust, also we had oil heat which isn't the cleanest either. and we had planes that flew on the low side

My sister lives near railroad tracks and that makes her house super dusty as well, she is constantly cleaning. And the planes do fly really low by her too

My house isnt really dusty, we have gas heat, we dont' live near a main road, and no planes fly overhead that are low.
I defin think those things are factors

eta; I also never open my windows ever.
My sister awlays has her windows open and with the train right there it defin causes a lot of dust

Re: Does anyone else have a really dusty house?

Yes, I hate it!! My house is always dusty!

We live in Long Island City, Queens- constant construction of new buildings, traffic, etc..I think that's a huge factor. I also tend to leave windows cracked open all year round...which I'm sure doesn't help!

That's probably it, then... I'm about 7 houses away from Montauk Highway. And I always have the windows open.
Sigh. I guess I will just have to be resigned to it... and take out stock in Pledge!
