does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
If so, is this by choice?
Or, just something you have to do in order to maintain peace in your house?
Do you plan on changing it? If so, when? and how?

I think DS has slept in our bed 1x his whole life. He just never liked sleeping there. He always liked his own space. I can lay in his bed with him and he will sleep but in my bed no way!

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
dd did until she was 15 months old. then we had her starting her nights in the crib and moving to our bed when she woke up (around 3). at 16 months she spent the whole night in her crib.
i would have been fine keeping her with us, but first the nursing became an issue (still wanted it every 2 hrs) then when we started to make progress with that she would get up a few times per night and want to play,n then we'd ALL be cranky the next morning.
i would have been fine with her staying with us, but she needed her space at that point. if in the future she wants to come in our bed (bad dream, etc) that's completely fine with us.

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
My DS is 6 months and sleeps in our bed by choice. Partly because it's the only way I would get any sleep, and partly because I'm having separation anxiety moving him into his crib (even though it's only across the hall ). I'm not a CIO mom so this seems to be the easiest answer for me at the moment. If he continues to sleep in our bed I will work on getting him out before he's 2, hopefully sooner than that......he needs to be out before we have another DC.

Did it to maintain peace and all get some sleep. When I couldn't deal anymore we made the transition back to her bed with lots of rewards. Now she sleeps all night in her own bed.

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
sure
why not
She sleeps mostly in her room these days but every now and then she'll still sleep with us but its a lot less these days. She co slept until over a year.
*shrug*
No issues putting her in her own bed and if she wakes up and wants to come to our bed its easier than a midnight battle.

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
yes - em sleeps in our bed. She was in the bassinet and then moved to our bed. we love it - she loves it...eventually she'll go to her own bed of some sort - but i work, dave works, our snuggle time at night & in the AM means the world to us.
there is no better way to wake up in the AM then having your daughter saying, 'mommy, daddy, mommy, daddy'...
(and believe me - dave & i still have 'our time' and a relationship)
if you have any ?? - please feel free to fm me...

We did the co-sleeping with our middle child, but had to stop when we knew we were having 2 under 2, since we didn't know how 2 in our bed would be

DS co slept until about 7-8 months. I made the choice 1 because he had some health issues as a newborn and 2 dh worked nights. He is now 21 months and sleeps in his own bed wonderfully.

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
mine is a long story and it has to do with a few different factors but yes, my 3 year old comes in our bed in the middle of the night. It can be anywhere from 1am to 4am. She is a peaceful sleeper and I don't mind it. My 2 year old pretty much sleeps in her own bed and comes in ours around 6ish. She is not always a peaceful sleeper so I am estatic when she stays in her own bed. They are not the best sleepers and I would trade early potty training for better sleeping any flippin day. My bookends are great sleepers thank goodness
eta: idk..it's a bitter sweet with them in our bed. somedays I love it and somedays I'm like ok...when is this going to end? It's a bitter sweet with me b/c if I really wanted to end it cold turkey I would. I have the power, not them. For now I'm content with it. I know it's just for now.

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
When they were newborns I would occasionally bring them i bed with me if they couldn't fall asleep on their own.
DS did nap with us once when he was around 20 months but that was when we were on vacation. I wish he would nap or sleep with us but he would never settle down with us in the bed with him

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
He slept on and off in our bed (or in his bassinnet which was in our room) until he was 4 months old. Once he went into his room in his crib, he never slept in my bed again.
There have been nights that he's woken up in the middle of the night and I was so tempted to bring him into my bed, but chose not to.

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
DS coslept in our bed until 10 months old. In the beginning it was fine but after 6 months or so, everyone kept waking each other up. We finallly did CIO at 10 months and he hasn't been back in our bed since to sleep. Best thing we ever did though I don't necessarily regret the initial cosleeping.
Now at almost 22 months I kind of wish he'd fall asleep sometimes with me in bed but he literally cannot settle down or fall asleep in our bed anymore, he must be in his crib...probably just as well.

If DD wakes up in the middle of the night crying I let her sleep in our bed. I don't mind at all! She's 6 months.

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
No. My older DS slept in his infant carrier a lot as a newborn (reflux) and then his crib, then toddler bed at 22 months. He is very independent and on the rare occasion that he falls asleep in our bed, he asks to go back to his room.
DS #2 slept with us sometimes as a newborn. Then his swing, now the crib. He sleeps well on his own (now 7 months old) so I won't mess with it.

Our DS is the same way. DH and I would bring him to bed with us sometimes when he would wake, and would love the 5 seconds he would stay still hoping he would fall asleep but he never does. I wish even now at 3 that he would fall asleep with us so we could snuggle! But no cigar!

Sometimes. The kids never go to sleep in my bed but they do end up there some nights.
I need me downtime at night so they will never be in the habit of going to be in my bed. However, I do love waking up with them. There is nothing better then cuddling with your children in the early morning hours or seeing their smiling face as the first thing you see in the morning.

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
my dd (12 months) starts off in her crib and usually by 3 or 4 ends up in our bed. We co-slept up til about 10 months then started putting her in her crib but she still wakes up throughout the night and its really just easier to bring her in with us at that point.
I honestly think she just hates her crib, lol. As soon as she hits the bed she is out cold! We dont mind. But I do like that we at least get most of the night to ourselves.

Kinda the same here with DS#1
When he was 3yrs old; we bought him a big boy bed and transitioned him- he will still crawl in our bed if he is sick, has a bad dream or if he wakes up real early and we arent ready to get out of
DS#2- has no desire to lay in our bed EVER- even when he is sick; Ill bring him downstairs and lay on the couch with him...

Re: does *anyone* have kid(s) that sleep/slept in your bed?
Ds is 13 months old and he slept in our bed for about 1 month. He was 2 months old and had horrible colic and we just couldn’t get him to sleep anywhere. So we let him sleep in our bed, so we could get some sleep. He now has been sleeping in his crib for the past 10 months. Dh and I now have a rule that he will sleep in our bed only if he is sick and needs to be comforted.
