Does food just taste better during pregnancy?

I swear, EVERY TIME I eat anything, I have to revel in how delicious it is ... even when it's something relatively plain. I was lucky to not suffer any morning sickness and have generally eaten normally until recently, where everything tastes SUPER DELICIOUS to me and I can't get enough food.

Am I normal? Wait, let me rephrase that since I know the answer to that question is "no." Chat Icon Is this a normal pregnancy "thing"? Or am I just a Fatty McFatFat?

To me, many things taste different & I can't enjoy them as much. Everyone's different, I guess! Chat Icon

I noticed that early on. I think because your sense of smell has heightened, you are tasting more too.

I hope I hate food once this pregnancy is over because I can't eat like this forever.

I just wiped off a ridiculous amount of crumbs from a bag of Sun Chips off of my chest/torso ... can we at least agree to share the title?

I never thought of the whole heightened-sense-of-smell as a contributing factor ... that must be what it is!

Thanks ladies! Chat Icon

We have such a warped perception of what we ACTUALLY look like during pregnancy, I feel.

Re: Does food just taste better during pregnancy?

Oh my goodness, I tought it was just me! I tried explaining to my husband and my mom a couple of times. I'll have my favorite meal to eat or not even my favorite and it's like euphoria once I'm full. Not too full, but just right and the best way I can describe it is being satiated but with added bliss !!

I'm laughing about you wiping sun chip crumbs from your chest ~ I'm 23 weeks with twins and I'm waiting for when I won't reach the table and will be wiping my crumbs from my belly. I don't think it's going to be too much longer! I'll have 2 levels of stains!!

I think that some things taste better than usual but not all things.

I was craving blueberry crumb cake this weekend and i made it and i swear it tasted better than what i expected. That was kinda nice.

Re: Does food just taste better during pregnancy?

Some things taste better now that I am pregnant. There have been a few times where I have been eating and I told my DH that I am having an orrgasm in my mouthChat Icon
