Re: Does labor go quicker if you're induced?
It's different for everyone. I was induced & had my baby in my arms 6 hours after checking into the hospital. I had a great labor experiance.

Re: Does labor go quicker if you're induced?
I got induced because my labor wasn't progressing fast enough. They induced me and broke my water. I think I delivered my DS about 4 hours after they induced me (I had been in the hospital for about 8 hours already in "early labor").

OMG I would have kicked him in the head! Literally! I was screaming so bad and saying I couldn't do and begging him to go in and get her out! (and that was only after less than an hour!) I would have freaked out!

Re: Does labor go quicker if you're induced?
I think everyone's bodies handle this differently. I've heard horror stories and that being induced = more pain but I have nothing to compare to so don't know if it's more or less painful. I was induced on a Thurs about 11am and delivered Fri around 3pm. The real labor kicked in prob in the early am with the cervadil and then the pitocin kicked into high gear for me. I pushed for an hour and 15 so all in all it wasn't a bad experience.

Re: Does labor go quicker if you're induced?
I started pitocin at 6am, the doc broke my water at 9:30am and I delivered dd at 4:31pm! I had an epi and was in heaven the whole time! I went naturally, meaning, vaginal birth! I had a great experience and would do it again!

Re: Does labor go quicker if you're induced?
Generally speaking no. Think of it like a car, if you have zero signs of going into labor before your induction vs. being in early labor prior to inducing meds it's like one car going from 0-60 vs the other car going from 40-60. Which car will reach 60 first, kwim?
