Does your baby fall asleep by him/herself if you put him down drowsy? DS only falls asleep in our arms.
The sleep books all say to do this but DS won't sleep unless he falls asleep in our arms first. DS is a fairly decent sleeper but I don't want him to have bad sleep habits from the beginning.

how old is DC? my son would fall asleep in my arms and then i would put him in up until about 3 months
after that (he will be 7 months on friday) i started to put him in the crib with his mobile when he looked or acted sleepy / rubbing his eyes

When I know he is tired I will put him in his cribs with his lovey and he will rub it on his face until he falls asleep. When I know he sleeping I will go back in and just make sure that the lovey is not completely covering his face because that is where he will always leave it. He is just like DH. Sometimes DH will sleep with his pillow on top of his head instead of under it.

DS is 4 months. We always have him looking at the mobile when he wakes up, not when he is sleepy. I will try that today. Thanks!

When DS was younger, he would only fall asleep in our arms. Then we would transfer him to his crib. When he was about 7 months, we did CIO with him for a few nights and ever since then he falls asleep on his own. (give or take the times when he was sick or teething when he needed us to help him go to sleep)

I put DS in his crib usually awake and he falls asleep on his own within 10 minutes or so.

ds always slept in our arms, esp. because he had reflux. it's a big problem now. he is 10 months and will only be rocked to sleep. other wise he cries, screams, and stands up, refuses to sleep. we are at a loss !!!!!! I woudl start putting baby down when drowsy ASAP , before they can start standing and having full on tantrums

From my experience, it's best to put them down when they are tired or drowsy so they connect crib with sleep.

Thanks for the tip. I will try to start sleep training sooner than later.
