Does your insurance cover IUI?
I know every plan is different, even the same provider can vary depending on the employer ... I will be calling them to confirm.
Just wondering if your health insurance covered IUIs?
Did you have any out of pocket expenses other than co-pays?

Re: Does your insurance cover IUI?
I had a $25,000 lifetime maximum and I exhausted all of it with only 3 IUIs and 1 IVF Meds were included in that amount. My IF coverage was on anything IF related: IUI, IVF, meds.
Now I'm paying for everything OOP, except for consultations/office visits (which are covered 80% because I have OON coverage) and blood tests (some of the tests are fully covered and others just partially). Some of my meds are covered by my regular insurance (estrogen patches, progesterone). My next IVF cycle will be costing me about $20,000 off the top of my head

Re: Does your insurance cover IUI?
I was only covered for 3 IUIs on my insurance, which was HealthNet. I switched to my DHs last year so that we could start IVF. He works for the state so it's Empire NYS. We have a lifetime max of $50K each, but of course most of the costs go against my $50K.

Re: Does your insurance cover IUI?
I am having issues with this right now. When I look at my insurance claims it shows that IUIs were not covered. We have yet to get a bill, and Dr. B's office looked at my benefits and said that my insurance follows the NYS mandate for unlimited IUIs. No one at GHI seems to know anything, so I don't even bother calling them. I'm kind of biding my time and waiting to see what happens.

Is there really a NYS mandate for unlimited IUIs?

Re: Does your insurance cover IUI?
We have Aetna but a high deductible plan. So technically they cover it but we basically pay out of pocket b/c our ded. is so high. The other catch is we cant' even submit to them until we've been trying for 6 months. We have no IVF coverage though. so that's not even an option for us.

Re: Does your insurance cover IUI?
I have New York state empire plan. My husband works for Nassau count. It covers unlimited IUI and if you go to a center of excellence there is no co-pay. I have a $50,000 life time max for IVF.

I have the same insurance. I go to Long Island IVF which is also considered a center of excellence.

From what I read NYS tried passing the Feritility Mandate a couple of times, but it is still under consideration. It really depends on your insurance company. I am covered under the CT Fertility mandate. I am covered for 2 IVF cycles and 3 IUI's. All fertility meds are covered, all I have to do is pay the $25 co pay.

Same Here, but now I go to a doctor outside my network, so I do have a co-pay.
