Donated blood
DS and I donated blood today. One of the few things I brag about because I hope it encourages others to donate.
One more donation, and DS gets his gallon donation card.

Very nice! I could never do it even though I know I should. I have vasovagal response and the sight of blood or needles affects my blood pressure and I faint. I am also sometimes a few pounds away from the required weight limit and that fluctuates. Been a steady healthy weight lately, though.
I’ll just let you donate for me.

That's great! I went on June 19th. Since I work for NYS, Cuomo gave Juneteenth as a holiday, so I made a last-minute appointment and gave blood. I went again Thanksgiving weekend (may have been Black Friday), but my iron was too low, so I couldn't donate. I'll have to try again soon!

Wanted to come back to mention that I donated at the NY Blood Center and about a month later I got a letter saying they tested for antibiodies and I was negative. I had no idea they'd do that but if you're curious about your status there's an extra motivation to go donate.

Yes, they did mention that they would tell us our antibody status. I have no reason to believe that I would have any antibodies, but it will be nice to have a confirmation.
