Re: Door open or closed

Open. But for a dumb reason. Once their door gets to a certain point it becomes squeaky as helll! And as many times as we have tried to fix it it doesn't work. I check on them a few times after they've gone to sleep and before I go to bed myself so to keep opening and closing the door would wake them up. Once we're in our new house (new house=new doors!) We'll close them over.

Same here. Fire safety is a big reason, but not disturbing them while they are sleeping is a close 2nd.

Re: Door open or closed

He falls asleep to a closed door, but before we go to bed, we open it. Otherwise it's FREEZING in his room. We do put up a gate on his door so he can't get out and roam around. Chat Icon

Closed because I don't want the cats to jump in his crib. They almost never have but I don't want to take the chance.

My 18 month old- closed

My 3.5 year old - open because she freaks out if we close it. Sometimes I will close it when I go to bed but she always wakes up and opens it.

Re: Door open or closed

We leave it cracked so we can hear when he cries. We havent really used the monitor yet since his room is right next to ours.

Closed. It's right across the hall from our room and right next to the bathroom—and she's a light sleeper, so it's closed with sound machine cranking.
It's also safer in the event of a fire.

Re: Door open or closed

I hate to - but I keep it closed for fire safety reasons. When she was younger , I always kept it open for air circulation reasons.
