Dry skin in a newborn?
My DD is ten days old, and when I was changing her this morning, I notices that the skin on her belly and legs was very dry. We gave her a bath with Johnson & Johnson wash last night - did that do it? Is there a moisturizer I can/should use on her? Or do I just let it heal on it's own?

Re: Dry skin in a newborn?
DS had and still has dry skin at 13 months old. We found that not bathing him everyday helped. We also use/used Aquaphor on him. Some dry/peeling skin is normal in a newborn...Also Aveeno is good...It should go away soon...

At 10 days old, she is probably shedding her "in utero" skin. It should stop pretty soon.

Re: Dry skin in a newborn?
Both boys were shedding like crazy when they were first born. I was told not to put anything on them. I did put aquaphor on the spots that looked painful like their ankles and between toes and fingers.
