DS has a cold and we let him sleep in the swing last night
Is that really bad? He's 7.5 months old and has been sleeping fine in his crib. He has an awful cold and was waking every half hour or so. The night before he was up all night and only slept on my chest. So last night we put him in the swing after 12:30 and he only woke twice. It was swing on low and vibrating. I'm so nervous that this was bad for him! Or should I just be happy that he slept?

I think it's fine!
When Loey is sick, I usually end up feeding him in the middle of the night if he wakes up. When he's feeling better, he STTN again with no problem

DS had a terrible cold we didn't know what to do he wouldn't sleep all night, we put him in he swing so he could breathe better. I was afraid the whole thing would fall with him in it, because he's past weight limit.

Our DS too! We actually had to pull the swing up from the basement because we put it away siince he's too big for it! DH wanted to put it in DS room, and I told him he needed to stay in our room in case the swing started to smoke!

Be happy he still fits in it! I think anything you can do when they are sick to make them feel better, go for it

yup, did that too! Just hoping I'm not starting bad habits. We've been so lucky so far!

I personally think it is fine. I don't think you are setting up any bad habits.
When my babies are sick, I think sleep is soo important. When they sleep, they get better quicker. So anything that is safe, that keeps them comfortable so they can get their rest, I will do!

I think it's fine also. When they are that congested, sleeping on an incline is most comfortable for them because they breathe easier. I did the same with DS when he had a bad cold and would rotate him from the swing to the car seat to the bouncer.

I've done it.
Also, when they are congested, the incline is good for them

Re: DS has a cold and we let him sleep in the swing last night
Thanks for the responses ladies! DS was back in his crib last night and we kept the swing in my room as a standby. Luckily we didn't need it. After some motrin, DS only woke twice and slept until his normal time in the morning. I'm hoping tonight gets even better (but I'll be keeping the swing close by)!
