DUMB Qs for those who use an external hard drive
Do you just "store" your pics, documents or do you also install the softwares on it too?
Like for example, I installed the software that came with my camera to download the pics. Should I move that software to the external hard drive or keep it on my laptop and just move the pics to the external hard drive?
What do you do?

if you saved the installation CDs then i wouldn't bother... i mean, you can, but if you are looking to save time and are keeping the CDs then i don't think you need to.

Well, my laptop froze because I ran out of space. So I really need to clean up. I did some but it's not enough.
So should I transfer the program to an external hard drive also?

oh i see what you mean - well then in that case, then i would say yes - it doesn't take up that much room and if you can get it off your laptop then that makes sense.

Move everything, then buy a second one and copy everything to it and store it in a safe deposit box or fire safe, then you will always have everything. I just purchased a 120gig for 60 dollars at Microcenter last weekend.

I was going to get a 350G or 500G.

Great idea, this past weekend they were on sale at microcenter but I missed the 500gig, it was like130

I just store all my documents/photos. I do have some programs on there (like Adobe Photoshop).
