Ear infections after tubes? Anyone?

Did anyone's children continue to get ear infections after having tubes put in? My DD barely made it 2 weeks after surgery and got another infection in one ear. The pediatrician confirmed the tube was still in there properly but apparently wasn't draining well enough. Wondering what your experiences were, TIA.

we have not dealt with that yet - but a friends son still had a bunch of ear infections because wax was clogging the tube

Yep.. AJ had one in the same month. Raging one.. even with the tube properly installed.

She had a really minor one the next month and none since.

I was told the tubes just help drain so the infections are shorter and less severe. Not a solution to never having them again. Infections will happen no matter what. The difference is that her body can now handle/fight them on its own better than before. The infections don't last as long. This means I'm not drugging her with antibiotics as much or as long as before.

But honestly after those first two Which was Jan/Feb this year, we've been clear.
