did you say in your listing how long? I usually put a blurb in my listing that says that payment must be made within 24 hours.

I sell alot of ebay, in my listing i usually say they have 3 days to pay otherwise i will second chance offer it to the next highest bidder and open an unpaid item case.
Second chance offer gives the bidder before who won it the chance to buy it at the their bid and gives them 24 hours to buy it.
Since you didn't have anything in your listing i would send them a warning message first and just say something like they have until monday to pay otherwise you will have to second chance offer it to someone else, that usually gets a response.

This is from eBays help screen:
If your buyer hasn't paid, here's what you need to do: If your buyer hasn't paid, here's what you need to do:
Contact your buyer. Like everyone, buyers can have emergencies or computer problems, so they may not be able to respond to you right away. If they don't respond to your email, you may want to request their contact information and give them a call.
Send a payment reminder. Send the buyer a friendly payment reminder between 3 and 30 days after the listing ends.
Open a case in our Resolution Center. If you still don't get a response from the buyer, or if you feel that you won't receive payment, you can open an unpaid item case in our Resolution Center as early as 4 days or up until 32 days after the listing ends. Your buyer is notified immediately and given an opportunity to respond. If the buyer doesn't respond or doesn't pay within 4 days, or you're unable to reach an agreement with the buyer, you can close the case and you'll automatically receive a credit for your final value fee. Read more about the Resolution Center and instructions for what to do when a buyer doesn't pay.
If you'd rather use a feature that automatically opens and closes an unpaid item case on your behalf, consider setting up Unpaid Item Assistant on your account.
Offer the item for sale again. You can extend a Second Chance Offer to another bidder, or relist your item and you may qualify for a credit on the insertion fee.
i would give them a couple of days to pay - they could be waiting for their paycheck or something like that.

First of all, did you send them an invoice at the end of the auction? They could be waiting on you to send it.
If the invoice was sent, this is what I would do: 1. wait another day or two before doing anything. Chances are you will get the payment by then.
2. Send a friendly reminder like "This is a freiendly reminder to send the payment for your item. I will be heading to the post office today, so please send your payment right away and I will be sure to have your package shipped"
3. If they don't respond to anything within 4-5 days, then I would report it.
I sell a lot on eBay. In my opinion, it's not worth getting antsy over a payment a day late. Unless they have a very low score, I am sure you will get paid as soon as possible.

Was just going to say that same thing. Also since you now have a email that they said they're going to pay, it makes your case stronger if they try and stiff you.
Also what I usually do is "require immediate payment" - I've still gotten stiffed this way but it does kinda help.

You can only do immediate payments on buy it nows. The OP said they bid so that removes the immediate option.
Wait the 7 days, then send an unpaid item reminder. Then if they still don't pay, issue a strike so you can get your ebay fees back.
