Egg allergy moms
What kind of treats do you bake for your DC's? DS's nursery school class is having a Halloween party on Friday and I would like ot make cupcakes or something to bring but there is a little girl with an egg allergy so I want to make sure it is something she can have as well.

Re: Egg allergy moms
Technically (according to bloodwork) Ryan is severely allergic to egg whites and slightly allergic to egg yolks. He has no visible reactions to anything except occasionally after eating scrambled eggs he will get a couple of hives.

Re: Egg allergy moms
My kids don't have allergies but I have friends whose children do and they use Cherrybrook kitchen products. I'm not sure if they sell them in the regular supermarket around here though. They are really delicious cupcakes.
Before going through figuring it out, I would call the mother whose child is allergic. Chances are she might be supplying her own cupcake or treat, that's what my friends do with their kids so they are 100% sure it's safe.

I would call the Mom and ask her......it would probably mean alot to her that you cared enough to make the call

Re: Egg allergy moms
I am allergic to eggs and know several tricks! Perhaps the easiest and most kid-friendly is to Use one can of sprite in regular cake mix in place of all other ingredients....You can make cupcakes or cake as you normally would and the taste and texture is not affected. Healthfood stores and natural grocers sell "Egg Replacer" which can also be used (not in brownie mix though!). You could also do an apple crisp and bring in a tub of icecream. If you are willing to go the extra mile....check out Vegan Dessert Recipes. They are not only healthier for little ones....they taste extraordinary. Or, you can Run a google search for Egg-Free desserts. Happy Baking!

Yes!! Sorry I forgot to put in my post where I bought it! Stop and shop has the mix as well as some health food stores. Pier One used to carry it but then they stopped.
